Gunner_Mania Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 whats the point of "tracking" a few dropped catches and no bals? are india the only team that do these things? are you going to email the list to the indian cricket team and tell them to stop doing this ? Seriously mate? What is the point in you joining in this forum and posting anything at all? Do you think anybody in the Indian hierarchy is going to take note of anything that you say at all - good or bad?
SachDan Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Be able to look back after the end of the series This is an ongoing thread while the series is on. Any let offs be listed here. Good thread finey :icflove:
Gunner_Mania Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Dhoni missed Paine on 0 (was a sitter, he should have taken in his sleep)
zen Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 84.5 Khan to Paine, no run, 139.8 kph, what happened there? Again movement away from Paine, he poked tentatively. Was there on edge on it? Dhoni did not collect cleanly as it died on him. A bit of noise as it passed Paine, but he did not seem to have got an edge. Replays suggest a really faint edge. So that is two drops from Dhoni today. 2-3 drop catches today :((
saneindian Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 A good thread. These are threads which tell us that even on these featherbeds, our much maligned bowlers create chances which are not taken by our fielders making life even more miserable. We dropped some 5-6 chances in the 1st test vs SL recently which in a way cost us that match. In today's game, had that Paine catch been taken, Zak could have picked up a wicket or two in the remaining overs. Or imagine Aussies losing Watson in the very first over!! It has already cost us 100 runs. On Dhoni dropping catches, it's somehow happening almost in every test match now. Going through a bad patch perhpas or the effects of Captaincy. Hopefully he wont drop any more chances now.
coffee_rules Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 The idea of the thread.. To come back and read about the lapses and analyse who is the bad seed in the team. Whenever somebody does something positive, point it to this thread and show how a missed chance costed the team a win which was attained in difficult because of the lapse
punjabi_khota Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I think it was last year when Chris Gayle joined the WI team a day before the first test against England in England due to T20, and there was so much brouhaha. Now Dhoni joins the team 2 days before the test due to CL T20, and there is little noise :dontknow:. It is pretty clear his keeping wasn't at its best. How is it humanely possible to be in right frame of mind for a BIG test match 2 days after you came from the high of winning the CL on the other side of the world :((
Ram Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Oh dear… This is déjàvu all over again.. The return to the good ol’ days of silly nitpicking by who else, but the bestest QA in the wholeeeeeeeeee world, Finey! :hmmm: How many times do we have to go through this? How many more times do we have to keep reiterating that this isn’t a video-game, where you enter cheat codes and hit sixes or take wickets. This is real people playing real sport out there and Virat Kohli once so eloquently put it, ‘Sh!t happens..’

It's the smell of fresh young blood that has drawn her back. The seniors had become accustomed to her ways and knew how to tackle her. Now there are many new members she can prey on.

Point is, you cannot make a direct correlation b/w Dhoni making a couple of mistakes on the field to him being in South Africa till 4-5 days ago.
EnterTheVoid Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 rofl @ Sririam, DK Fineleg is back to prey on the unsuspecting new members of ICF. I think Fineleg is a dood. No girl puts up half naked/semi nude pictures of Katrina Kaif as their profile picture.
