I think Sachin (and to an extent Vijay) have been 'hiding' whats going on in the wicket. Besides, our spinners are a zillion times better than Nathan Horrid. edit: There was one thing that some old Tamil guy said to me. That every run scored in the first inning is twice as hard to get in the second inning in the "typical" Indian wicket. Apparently, most club matches that he played for were almost only focussed on getting a first inning lead.

It was kumble and yuvraj. We had them 7 down i think.

Either way if India play out the first two sessions, we will be bossing the game and aussies have to chase it with India leading.

Sachin and Dhoni are key - if they can put a big partnership together then every reason we can take a lead of 100 which will be immense on this pitch. But if they are broken early then I'm not too confident about our tailenders on this track.

If we bat till tea there is no way Aus can win, so from point onwards its all about saving the game for them

Hopefuly the more hauritz bowl to Dhoni the better. Dhoni should look to make Dave mohammed out of hauritz or michael clarke who ever comes in to bowl spin to him. He would be the key with Tendulkar holding one end. If Dhonji stays for 2 sessions, we should have good lead later on the day and we can look to declare before grabbing 2-3 wkts till stumps

I agree. It's very unlikely that we'll bat through till tea. We'll be doing well to make it through the morning session because once the tail gets in they will find out just how difficult it's getting to be to score on this pitch.

I dunno man, I don’t think this is particularly hard pitch to bat on. There’s turn, but its still pretty slow and unlike Mohali, there’s in much in offering in terms of reverse swing either. It would have been nice if we had bowled Australia out for 70-80 runs less in the 1st innings, or ended day 3 with only 4 wickets down. But right now, the way the things look, a significant lead looks highly unlikely. At best, we can probably scrape together 70-80 runs, but the Aussie top order shouldn’t have too much trouble erasing it. But you never know though. Who would have thought the first test would have produced a result after the first three and half days?

It was kumble and yuvraj. We had them 7 down i think.

We were 60-4 (Yasir Arafat ripped through our top order before lunch on day 1), but Yuvraj scored a superb 100 and Ganguly scored a double. I think Irfan got a 100 as well, in that match.

problem is pitch hasn't got sun on 1st and 2nd day. With more sun, cracks will widen and thats where Bhajji and Ojha will be tricky customers for them. The pitch has become slower than it was on first day.
