fineleg Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 This is the only spot that is up for grabs - the rest of the 10 are cast in stone for Ahmedabad, barring any last minute injury scare 1.Sehwag 2.Gambhir 3.Dravid 4.Tendu 5.Laxy 6.Raina 7.MSD 8.Harbhajan Singh 9.Zaheer Khan 10.Pragyan Ojha 11. Sreesanth or Ishant? Who would you go with? Assuming both are fit.
rkt.india Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I will go with Ishanth, has better match practice and looked better than Sreeshanth...Sreeshanth can only be effective when it swing and it wont in Ahmedabad...Ishant has bounce and can seam the ball and can surprise the batsman out of the blue...
Hindustani Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Ishant (based on last match performance with both bat and ball)
urbestfriend Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Among shants, "I" am better than "sree", I feel
gaurav92 Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I will go with Sree ishant has been given lot of chances, he hasn't impressed much.Sree is a gem o a bowler in Tests and he needs some practice before he lands in the rainbow nation. This Series is tailor made to get his confidence back on track, so that he could be lethal in more conducive S.African conditions

Have you been following Indian tests lately? You are clearly carrying a perception about his ODI and T20 performances and confusing with his test performances
Sachinism Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 If fit have to go with Ishant. Santh has done nothing worthy of being selected again
zen Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 :cheer: Play them both. It will be good to get them in to some kind of a rhythm before the SA tour
cowboysfan Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 both are not very consistent and streaky bowlers.when sree is on then he can run through an inning and be our best bowler.we wont be having this debate in sa though.
diegovegaz Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 sreesanth seemed to regain some rythm in the last game, so its important to play him, else he'll get lost in wilderness, once again
Hindustani Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 both are useless, but I Sharma is probably less useless *sigh*
Ram Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 It’s a pretty hard choice to make. Both looked pretty equal in the Australia tests, but if I had to pick someone, it would be Ishant. He had a lackluster first innings in Mohali, but came back outstandingly in the 2nd innings. If anything, it was his spell on day 4 that put us in a match-winning position. Plus, he’s definitely more adept at reverse swing than Sreesanth is. To me, that tips the balance in favor of him, though Sree showed a lot of energy (and gnarling teeth..:--D) in the 2nd test and deserves to be commended. I cant wait for Zak, Ishant and Sree to go to England next summer. That should be a mouth-watering prospect. :yay:
