From what I saw in the IPL his batting looked meaty, much more so than Dhoni's lover, jadeja. Need a powerful hitter lower down the order especially on flat pitches during WC.

Don't think we should pick him based on IPL alone. And he might be good for tontee tontee, but i doubt if he'd do well as full time keeper in ODIs.

thats the best I have seen him play , but we are wasting our time with him imo ..hes not as bad as ojha , but isnt good enough to be a long term option .

So I don't think it's a terrible choice by the selectors. We have not much option left anyway besides him and Kartik, as of now.

His timid approach is reminiscent of Ajay Ratra. Can't understand the mistreatment of Dinesh Karthik, he is not an opener and yet he has been in and out of the team as an opener. Give him 5 matches at number 6/7 and I've no doubt he will do a superior job than this kid.

Thats harsh , You may havent watched him play before. This Kid is scoring well in domestic cricket. I doubt Ratra was as good as this kid in Domestic Cricket.

And that is why IPL isn't the basis for selection. Anyway he was off injured straight after the IPL, came back for Champions Trophy and did OK, but needs to be doing more for Karnataka to be considered for the national team

He looks like one of those short Bangladesh batsman who may click once in a while.

He is an excellent keeper and the perfect back up to Dhoni in tests. In ODIs though the spot should have been given to Karthik, but the selectors might have the idea of trying out the reserve options.
