A person who reads the occasional fashion magazine, tries out different hair dos regularly, knows which sale is going on in which mall/outlet, gets sms alerts about various new launches, has visited most of the boutiques in town, has an eye for detail and knows what goes with what etc and the patience to try out different things before buying, is fashion conscious according to me.

But pretty expensive. Also few bad experiences. I like Allen solly shirts though. Because of online sales in US i prefer buying here.

All over the country, same shytty designs in chain stores. Party Shirts - pales in comparison to what I get at home. Tracks - :hehe: I don't even get quality track pants here :hysterical:

Been ages since i bought. I mostly buy Ts and button down casual. Funny thing is most of the branded shirt that are available here are made in India. Unfortunately we don't get at the same price in India. It is more expensive. Also we don't have online sales like in US For instance this shirt i bought for 17$ when it was on sale. Non-Indian co-workers have admired my Bata Power shoes which I had bought for ~Rs 1250 and T-shirts from Potheys (Chennai) which I grabbed for anywhere from Rs 150 to Rs 400.

India simply isn’t a good shopping destination pretty much for everything except maybe jewelry and silk sarees. :D The general quality of apparel in India is appalling and the options are as limited as a special edition Lamborghini. If you want good quality stuff, the price you have to pay is astronomical and you’re still not guaranteed value for money. You cant get a half decent shirt in India for a 1000 bucks, but you can find plenty of nice ones for $25 here (If you look hard enough). US offers the widest range and the best value for money

Pothys :(( Single thread stitching. That was a rip off for me.They all tore into pieces with a single stretch. But i admit Bata slippers are quality.

Now days you see Indian clothes hanging in Americna Eagles and lot of other outlets, you can easily see, the finishing on the clothes isn't the greatest. Don't confuse it with material. Made in India clothes have had great material, but finishing of the cloth is just crap. It's like buying sport shoes too. Before I came to states, I never used to like shoes here. But now i see, here there is every brand. You can't find better sport shoes to wear with jeans than anywhere else.

I asked him if he has any jeans in the range of 150 Rs. He showed a shirt and told me " FYI this shirt costs 320". I walked out embarrassingly. It was a high end jeans for me. I remembered the incident when bought a wrangler jeans other day for 15$ at walmart for garden work. :cantstop:
