Ankur Upadhyay
According to TOI, Umesh Yadav was very impressive in the practice session yesterday. He even broke Kohli's off stump into two with a perfect yorker. Kohli even patted him on the back after the session. He can be a very important player for us in the world cup. He is by no means an excellent ODI bowler but he is a wicket taker and you need wicket takers to win LOIs too. If he can learn to bowl with a bit more accuracy, then it will really improve our chances in the World Cup. Link to comment

You might have a wet ball under lights trying bowl yorkers under pressure. It needs a lot of hard work. Link to comment
vishalvirsingh
Umesh and Varun will suceed well under KohlI. I m sure of both doing well. Good luck Lanka. .u really need luck..2 145k bowling together. Link to comment
vishalvirsingh
Waiting eagerly for umesh n varun tommorow. . Just can't wait for the game to start. I expect not just wickets but some batters getting seriously hurt too. Throwing varun n umesh on them with new ball can surely ensure a constructive speed war.. Can't wait to see. Link to comment

Cricketics
Not really impressed by either Varun or Umesh so far in whatever chance they have gotten. Lot of people lobbied for these two guys but they haven't really been as outstanding as people were supposed to see them as. Shami and Bhuneshwar are clearly the best stand out bowlers in last 1 year or 2. None of the other Indian bowlers have impressed or deserve a sure shot selection atleast at this time. We are still in "trial" stage unofrtunately and this means that Shami and Bhuneshwar should be sure start whenever we start a series. Link to comment

He was the most threatening Indian bowler in the two tests he played. Umesh hasn't played a test in 2 years and was pretty decent against WI in ODIs. Link to comment
express bowling
Really looking forward to seeing what Aaron and Umesh do under a pacer friendly captain. Talking about the whole series... not just the first match. Aaron has rediscovered himself in England. Looked really hostile and wicket-taking. Let's see how that motivates him. Link to comment
Shivaji bhonsle
Pretty impressive indeed. Must for the world cup. Link to comment

express bowling
He is looking like taking a wicket every over. A wicket taking bowler is the biggest asset to any team. Need to nurture him. Link to comment

mancalledsting
also dont forget that in his first test series in australia he acutally troubled some australian batsmen with raw pace- not an easy thing to do considering pace/bounce is the bread and butter of indian domestic cricket- may also do well in odis in australia and nz Link to comment
