Pwnting's last 51 Tests this is absolutely shocking. Just 6 centuries and around 3400 runs @ 38 in 51 Tests - even New Zealand or WI would have dropped a batsman in this form.

The fact that he did so much good in that middle phase because it was usually that he came at no.3 most times at 100/1 which is pretty comfortable to take it easy and bat freely and as we have seen most times dravid comes to crease with a good first wicket partnership... he scores big... it was the same with ponting... it was his great luck that he came out to bat after the best openers of the decade HAYDEN/LANGER and before that SLATER/TAYLOR which helped him a lot in that duration... he became a bully against the opposition because he knew that the opening partnership usually had dented the mindset of the bowling team and he took advantage of that.... plus its usually the indians and Engand who rate him so much higher cause he has batted well against them in Australia but against other teams even though he has a good average he isnt as good...plus as NAAZNEESH said... he faced the poorest bowling line-ups between 2000-07 as all the great bowlers were stacked in his team during that age... :two_thumbs_up:
