The Paks attacked in 71 India had no choice but to defend themselves. If she had guts she would have preemtively smashed Pakistan on the west as well instead of turn her guns on her own countrymen included those terrorists she created. Real credit goes to the golden generation of the Indian military from 1965-1985. True BJP made mistakes in their 4 years. Hard to equate 4 years of mistakes with 55 years of mistakes.Oh come on .. Anyway, there is no comparison between IG of 1971 and MMS of today whose own ministers openly defy him (Raja, Maran etc). For decisiveness, IG of 1971 >>> AB Vajpayee >> MMS. Vajpayee gets points for Pokhran 1998, something MMS opposed back then. Of course, in the latter half of 70s and 80s IG did several things that cost India a lot.

During BJP's time Kandhar happened and we impotently handed over a terrorst we had Actually No Government after 89 has been in the position of comfortable majority .All Governments were surviving on waffer thin majority ,so no comparision with Government's of Past 89 and before 89.The more people will vote for regional parties , the weaker central govt we will get unless we replace this system like the american presidential system

I dont think any goverment in Asia had te guts to take on America when they had their naval force ready to back up Pakistan. USSR was a big help, of course

Youngsters at the protest raised slogans against India, US and the Pakistani government. They were holding placards with quotations against Nato forces and the MFN status. JI Leader Farid Ahmed Paracha addressing the demonstration said that jihad is the only solution against terrorism of every type including drone attacks and attacks on check posts. Indian held Kashmir Hurriyat Conference leader Sayed Ali Gilani in a telephonic address condemned the Nato attack on the check post. He said Pakistan was facing problems as a result of being a part of the US coalition. Gilani added that Pakistani rulers must not expect anything good to come from the US and instead of declaring India as its MFN, Pakistan should help the Kashmiri people. He said PakistanÃÔ friendship with India is not only against the struggle for the independence of Kashmir but also against the sovereignty of Pakistan. NATO was clearly in Pakistani air space and violating sovereign territoty. They also knew the position of the check-post and could not have confused it with anything else

The current situation also has poverty for many Indians, but it also has a much more comfortable life for millions of Indians than what they had in say 1960 or 1980. Poverty in any country, leave alone India, can never be eradicated. NEVER! I believe partition is the best thing to have happened to Bharatvarsha since the Europeans started ruling us. How so? Where is the list of Top 10 countries?

As for terrorists being the bigger scumbags there are all the same. Army on US payroll got us involved in the afghan war and messed things up with India for their own good.
