we are once again trying to keep our batsmen glorified by blaming dhoni. We have been doing this for 20 years now. Our batsmen suck when it comes to crunch situations overseas.

Batting Top 6 (proper batsman) Aussies: 364(+77) Indians: 287 Bottom 5(including wk) Aussies: 172(+25) Indians: 147 Clearly If the famous batting line up (top6)cannot outscore the opponents in this aspect then its all pointless to blame anybody else ...a lot more is expected from them... no point is talking about giving runs to lower order and field placings....both the sides did the same thing with lower order scoring and field placings...even Michael clarke was defensive by opening the field for sehwag, sachin, dhoni...thats just the way everyone plays in modern days...in and out fields... Dhoni and Haddin both are at same level...even though Indians always expect more from Dhoni because of all the hype n all... Bowling Top 4 bowlers of both sides picks up 20 wickets each...cant see any one side above another. Fielding Both sides dropped crucial catches. But a very big difference was ground fielding and running between the wickets. PATHETIC from Indians, they are unfit old ppl who dont run after the ball when they know the ground is so big...it wont reach boundaries...forget about diving n all...and while batting also...cant run more 3s n 4s...ridiculous...atleast 30-35 runs difference between the sides here...somebody seriously needs to hold these seniors responsible for this...this cannot be let gone in todays time...when all other sides are fitter than us...even bangladesh would be better here... Dhonis keeping is similar to Haddin if not better... Bottom line is Batting...this team has batted pathetically in last one year(away tests)...if they dont change now...whats the point of continuing and blaming other ppl and make scapegoats of newcomers like kohli n raina n yuvi and our Captain Dhoni

Thanks for those statistics. It just proves we shouldn't mask our batsmen from the hype. I have been watching MCG tests over the last 4 tours and this collapse invariably happens. Lets also admit that in the 1st innings we shouldn't have trailed by 50 runs. It was again a batting collapse that made us fall behind.

Great summary.... Indians have to improve top order batting and lower order performance, some bowling and their fielding - lol. At least their sitting in the change rooms was good.:haha:

How long you expect the batsmen to save a pathetic defensive captain? Imagine if the batsmen would've won the match for you in this match (and they've done it many times in the past and in ODIs too) would this pathetic, egoistic captain l;earn from his mistakes? It took series of losses to break one ego to not let proper fast bowlers getting opportunities in the team. Now atleast the bowling looks bit potent. Don't know how many losses it'll take to break the egp and adamancy to not have proper field placements (loads of runs easily being score in the thirdman and cover region) and preconcieved bowling strategy. I'm happy with the losses..Sala if he's maintaining his ego then sala keep on effing losing. Don't expect others to effing save your **** and clean up your shyt captaincy..

Reasons as to why did india Loose to Australia today Reasons......... 1. At a High Level first i would like to say that india won against West Indies 4-0 if my meory serves me right on flat Patta Wickets in which the Heroes in bolwing department were Ashwin , jadeja and Rahul. we could have beaten west indies even after preparing little faster tracks possibly by 3-1 and even the tests by preparig better wickets and giving our batters some genuine fast pitch exposure..........Old india Problem even a Paanwala knows this..indian wickets are Patta wickets and we will defeat all on these wickets....why the hell do we need to win ALL our matches in INDIA and then go and loose All our matches outside or on abroad pitches. 2.australia was reeling at 27 for 4 and then ishant and ashwin started bowling....ishant cud not maintain the pressure which he n umesh built and then ishant was replaced by ZAK but aswin continued to bowl and he could only become a defensive bowler to great batsmen like RICKY and HUSSEY.....there was a time when UMESH and ISHANT were virtually unplayable and it seemed to me that the fifth wicket cud go even if umesh was given even 1 more over , at that point of time Umesh sud have been asked to continue bowling and we shud have continued to have ZAK,ISHANT and UMESH only bowl as they are fast bowlers and Ashwin shud have been given the ball only against genuine tail.............. on the contrast Ausie captain Clarke introduced LYON against UMESH Yadav and even umesh scored some runs ( close to 30) against LYON, on this pitch even a no 11 cud manage to play the spinners.........i was feeling really BAD that such a hifi Spinner like Ashwin was not getting the kind of success he shud have normally got.......i mean clarke introduced lyon only when the decision of the match was done...australia had virtually won the match. 3. the GREAT DRAVID- how come he misses more catches then He takes...??? 4. VVS- a Big Batsman should not fail miserably in both the innings of the MATCH.......is he growing OLD??? is his eyesight now as GOOD??? 5. Gambhir- looks like totally off form...i would advise him to let ajinkya rahane play ahead of him 6. I dont know how can such a profilifc scorer like Kohli fail in a TEST match...Virat shud have done better, since he cud not do , possibly Rohit may plan ahead of him. 7. Finally dhoni decided to start hitting and then he scored some runs ( around 20) and before that he looked worse than ISHANT...everybody know how good a batsmen he is in english and AUssie wickets but he shud play to his strengths and try and Slog a bit and score a quick 35 to 50..... i will add few more reasons.....feel free to add reasons ..and will any of you send these reasons to DUNCAN Fletcher pls.............DUNCAN- free consultation and advise from us...its said correct BASIC things and Basic issue and all complicated issues will get resolved automatically. Agree, to me both teams were neck to neck, well fought game, India surrendered the initiative twice when aussies were on the mat , their batting looks better on stats bcoz, Dhoni set ridiculous fields and let lower order bat with Hussey and Ponting, Aussies wanted to win more badly then us and were more aggressive, batting, bowling, field settings. 1 Captaincy 2 batting mainly Dhoni, Virat, let us down, Laxman, Gambhir have doen well in the past and they need some space they will improve I am sure.

What rubbish...whose saving who here...if you think that batsman's role in the team is to save the weak bowling/captain or anything else...than they should just stop playing...we need batsman who can score runs... more than the opposition....if they dont score they shud get the whipping be it sachin or dravid or kohli...ego n all is nonsense... and India has won so many games with same field settings...same change of bowlers n stuff...by your logic in past India won so many games because of Dhoni ? i doubt u will ever approve that...agreed that it looks defensive... but the same tactics has won us many matches... according to me..Dhoni is the least egoistic person in this team...

Its been a while since I've commented on ICF but watching this match, the key points I noticed were: 1) Poor shot execution by the batsmen. The Aussies were showing intent and there was no better example than Hussey in the 2nd innings. At 4/27, he didn't retreat into his shell but kept playing his shots OR looking for singles. 2) Consistency of the bowlers. The Aussies were relentless. Its all well and good to criticise Dhoni but the Indian bowlers were consistently giving a boundary ball away almost every over. Zaheer didn't make the batsmen play enough, Ishant wasn't moving the ball much and Umesh was bowling too many short deliveries in between his good ones, Ashwin gave too many boundary balls in between good ones. The changes I would make for the SCG test are 1) Replace Kohli with Rohit. As much as I admire Kohli's tenacity his tendency to fall towards the off side is a bit of a concern on quicker tracks where he'll be rapped on the pads like he was today. Rohit Sharma is technically a lot more solid, although is lazy. However, we do lose our best fielder, so it won't be the end of the world if Kohli is retained. 2) I doubt the SCG pitch is going to be a turner (Aus wouldn't do that), so retain the same bowling attack. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and come back stronger. I would bowl Kohli or Sehwag more though to try to change it up a bit. 3) Keep a close in fielder on both sides, so short-leg and closer cover to prevent these quick singles. We allowed Australia to take too many this match.
