master22 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Dravid should have resigned at least 1 year before- I think he was always a bit too slow as a batter and he should have never played any 1 Days at all and should have played less Tests than as much as he played. He was the reason for a lot of DRAWS- sometimes for us and sometimes even turning a Win opportunity into a DRAW- his aim was first to Draw the match which was a defensive mindset. I have seen average fast bowlers turning Dreaded as Dravid showed a preconceived FLAT bat to even a ball which can easily be hit. If Dravid played so many Tests than Aakash Chopra should also have played a lot of tests as for me both were made of similiar wood- even Sanjay Manjrekar should have played a lot - but DID THEY PLAY-They did not as they were not worth it. For me Dravid should have played less Tests Please limit your nonsense to phaaast bowling

Why do you say that?He had a very good odi career and he was not that slow in odis, has a strike rate comparable to likes of inzamam and saurav.
Raghav_12 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Really feeling sad. Watching him at no.3 has been so permanent feature of my life in last 15 years. India gonna miss his capabilities of fierce concentration and commitment. :hatsoff:
krupaksk Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Rahul Dravid - Respect. I will miss the perfect defense in the days of T20. Warming upto your technique and your game was like a good wine, took time for me to appreciate. Without your stout defense and great partnerships Indian team would have looked like flashy with all the stroke makers in Viru, Sachin, Saurav and VVS. One word comes to mind when I think about your game Stability. I felt calmer when you were at the crease when there was a game to be fought to save or won. Whenever your wall was breached especially when you were well set are those days I questioned the reality. To our virtual opener, the best 3rd drop of our team and greatest slip catcher of our time, Thank you for some of the best cricketing days in my life. Good bye and the best of the best wishes to you and your family.
Laaloo Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Goodbye to the 3rd greatest Indian test cricketer ever :hatsoff: :adore:
punjabi_khota Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Goodbye to the 3rd greatest Indian test cricketer ever :hatsoff: :adore: 4th :hmmm: after G_D, Kapil the sunky old man, and Sunny uncle. :hatsoff:
Lord Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 4th :hmmm: after G_D' date=' Kapil the sunky old man, and Sunny uncle. :hatsoff:[/quote'] I hate it wen Kumble is forgotten.hes the true unsung hero, not Dravid as the banner above suggests
sarcastic Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 End of a great career of an outstanding Cricketer as well as a person :sniffle::bye: You will be always be remembered with great respect and looked upon as a role-model! :hatsoff:
Stuge Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Jelousy! Dhoni is a superstar' date=' whereas Dravid earned just insults in his career. My driver was actually saying [b']'good riddance Sir', he was average player with boring batting style, and no attitude on field. Ask any teenager about Dravid, most probabbly they will compare him with moped, at best 100CC motorbike. Dhoni is not just a cricketer, he is a ultimate machine, his fan following is huge, he earns millions each year, he is cool, he is match winner, he didnt backstabed anyone to become the captain. Dravid is a weak character, accept it and move on, we dont need such chaps in team India. Dravid should have resigned at least 1 year before- I think he was always a bit too slow as a batter and he should have never played any 1 Days at all and should have played less Tests than as much as he played. b555 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I was thinking the same. And he has already commentated during '99 World Cup Final. :yay:
beetle Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Thank you Rahul Dravid for being the best and the handsomest.:hatsoff: P.S the RD hater on this thread...please go and die!
vishalvirsingh Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Aakash and Sanjay Manjrekar were quite similiar type players- Akash. Suceeded against Australia and was thrown out just bcos he was slow as his average etc was not Bad and he managed to give India fair openings- same ws manjrekar- just that they cud not Play where as Dravid who was a shade better than them got a lot of opportunity. If I would have been a selector I wud have dropped him of 1 days since the start of his Career and from 5 days in India . Abroad _ we always needed him. I am not in favour of selecting very Defensive batters. For me the quality of batting and scoring will improve if Kohli bats at no 3 or even if Chetteshwar Pujara Bats or even if Manoj bajpai bats. Mind you Kohli and Pujara are phenomenal fielders so fielding will probably go 2 notches up at leaset for a no 3 guy if kohli or Tiwary play for Dravid.
