Just saw the news channels. Its pretty set now that he's going. A part of me thought its just a rumour but its not to be. Rahul Dravid, Cricket's greatest #3, One of the few True Gentlemen of the game, you will be missed.

I think when you consider his record of catches' date=' there can be a very strong case that one could make.[/quote'] On the other hand if you consider the no. of catches he dropped as well, you will put him back in the order after the likes of Kapil, Gavaskar, Tendulkar and maybe Kumble :giggle:

:hatsoff: for a legendary career and also for playing a key role in resurrecting India's fortunes overseas. I'm glad he is retiring immediately as that shows his true professionalism compared to some of the other oldies who just refuse to see the writing on the 'wall' If they had an ounce of self respect, the dhurinder's should have left after the 0-8 humiliation to allow the team some time to rebuild.... however, only Dravid so far has accepted the fact that now is the time for change..... He is a hall of famer for sure!!

And Dravid was the best of the seniors to perform with 3 100s in Eng. But if Dravid does retire I expect Laxman to retire as well o he will be dropped by the selectors and only SRT in the team from the trio.

He deserves a great finish. Sadly he hit the rock bottom in OZ after being the only shining light in England. A retirement then would have been ideal for him. Sadly these days when you are in good form you tend to push for one more year. No modern Indian player has timed their retirement perfectly.
But just one more match would have been fine. It's not like we're going to lose to the Kiwis with RD in the team :((

Rahul Dravid,always a team man.Ready to bat at any position,always taking responsibility,and quite a hardworker.I'm not sure the game will see a gentleman like him ever again..
