From a neutral perspective.....Pak in SL conditions can be a handful...Pak and WI have handsdown the most effective bowling attack in these conditions but their ability to self-destruct is legendary India on the other hand doesn't have the worst bowling attack by any means...Zak,Ash,Bhajji,Irfan,Yuvi all can be a handful in these conditions given they find form India and SA have the best batting line ups in this format but India have a slight edge over SA thanks to better spinners in the side... Aus and Eng without KP are no-hopers SL is the real dark house....decent batting,Home conditions,Malinga but spin bowling is a problem area for them and with the exception of Dilshan and Matthews they don't have big hitters...Mahela has a decent T20 record but don't see him provide the quickfire starts with the consistency of Jaya or even Dilshan

He attacks like once every 5 T20I matches even when coming up the order. As long as he bats 6th/7th and faces the least balls, the Indian team will put up a better score for our bowlers to defend.

He is one of our best as long as he doesn't bat in T20I. Stop mixing IPL with T20I. You know very well what I'm trying to say.
Why should we not take IPL record in consideration? This T 20 WC is in Sri Lanka where the conditions will be very similar to Indian conditions where the IPL was played (except for the one season where it was in RSA). If he could do well consistently in the IPL, he will do well in the T20 WC in SL too.

My X1: Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Raina Rohit/Bajji Yuvraj Dhoni Pathan Ashwin Zaheer Balaji/Dinda Not sure if India has confidence playing 5 bowlers, if that's the case drop rohit and play Bajji. Pathan looked in great form in Sri Lanka with the bat, so probably Dhoni might go with 5 specialist bowlers? I would do that as this might be a nice experiment in the match situation but we do have warm up matches too ahead of the WCT20.

My pick would be India :yay: and then Pakistan.. assuming the pitches are slow and spin friendly. There is a bit of swing in SL at times so Pathan could be quite handy if used properly.

Firstly, what kind of pitches are we to expect in SL at the time of the tourney ? A bit of swing and slowish pitches conducive to spin bowling?

Pretty much this but-Irfan at 6-Will weaken the batting order which is our main strength anyway' date='so may be accomodate both Rohit and Yuvi and drop Balaji[/quote'] We need at least 4 bowlers + Irfan. 3 among these 5 are most likely to go for runs. Plus 7 can bat well and Bhajji+ Ashwin can chip in too.

In SL India have a g8 chance,Ashwin ,Irfan, Aaron, Ishant, Rahul Sharma should be our bowlers, Gambhir, Sehwag, Kohli, Raina, Rohit, Rahane Yuvraj, Dhoni our batters, makes a formidable team , bowling needs to click also bowlers need to be aggressive, have seen some good spells fromIshant, Aaron, Irfan in IPL.

Pitches will be good for spinners usually.

I think the team management will rotate Manoj Tiwary and Rohit Sharma... give them a game each to see how they perform although Tiwary should be miles ahead of Rohit at this stage. They should rest Zaheer from both games, don't understand what he's doing in this squad. Give Dinda and Balaji opportunities to prove themselves. Pathan should be the constant. My XI: Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Tiwary Yuvraj Raina Dhoni Pathan Ashwin Harbhajan Balaji But Dhoni's favorite "talent" is certain to play.

My XI for 1st t20 match against the KIWIS:- who performs better between Bala & Dinda should play along with Zak in the first XI in the WC.
They should both atleast get a game each against NZ. The world cup is a different matter though. Apparently at Pallekele, where our Super Eight games are gonna be staged, the ball is more likely to swing around. I would play Zak in those games and drop either Bhajji or Ashwin to complement whoever of the two performs better until that stage(I'm guessing Balaji). Qualifying for the Super eights shouldn't be all that.

Zak is a pathetic T20 bowler.no point playing him.we gotta seperate from ODIs N t20S
We can separate him after this world T20. Dinda brings no confidence in me. He'll be another Balaji type bowler who we can't use in the last 4-5 overs, so Zak is a much better choice.
