indiaregulator Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Browsing through the T20 thread in that respective forum about Ashwin, there are people constantly mocking him. Not having followed the guy in the domestic circuit, what is the reason for this? Sreesanth MKII?
Spiderguy252 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Age 25, but moves around the field like Stephen Hawking.
vvvslaxman Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 He has good cricketing brain. In contrast he has one of the poorest athleticism. When they combine (like not taking a run in the last ball and gave a weird reason for that) it is a deadly combo. It is not like he is the first slow mover cricket has seen. Wont be the last one. But his slow movement is not only hurting his team also his own growth as a player. When he made his 100 i thought it was a one off batting performance. But consistently he has delivered against good bowling attacks on different surfaces with sensible approach. If he wants to maximize that ability he has to learn to MOVE MOVE
Clarke Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Fair weather fans those madrasis, too bad CSK isn't doing well once in a blue moon :P
maniac Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 His Lazy work ethic...people who say he is a smart/thinking cricketer and a fighter are bull*****....As an international athlete, his prime aim should be fitness and being a good athlete, not seen any improvement in fact he has detiriorated ever since he came into the international side. That is why most fans dislike Munna,Sree,RP and in recent time Sehwag and Laxman. This is why no matter how poor he has been in tests, not too many Indian fans disrespect Raina. His commitment is no doubt top notch :hatsoff:

Apart from star performers and legends ,people here hardly like anyone.Ashwin has still managed to escaped much of the bashing from ICFers.
someone Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 people here hardly like anyone This. One game he is said to be gold, another game he is said to be gone
Needforspeed Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Every time he opens his mouth he talks crap. A 39 year old Sachin is fitter and faster than him. I dont think the idiot has seen how a gym looks like. He is supposed to be a 'sportsman' for gods sake.
yoda Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Many reasons: 1. He replaced Harby and we have many Harby worshippers on this site 2. He is very lethargic on the field 3. His on field performance has faded of late since the WC and the test century + MOM performance
Cricket Tragic Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Because he is fat and behaves like a tw*t.

His on field performance has faded of late since the WC and the test century + MOM performance It's the fielding and running,i dont think there are any harby worshippers left after the last match(yes i was one..)
VRV Singh Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I get the vibe from everything he says/does that he has victim mentality. I doubt he is ever going to consider his fitness a big issue (despite being singled out in a team full of lethargic players!!). I hope he can regain his bowling form soon at least.
NareshK Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I dont think he's going to get any fitter. His batting is above average for a spinner and let's see if he continues to bowl well because that's the reason he is in the side. He has done decently so far for the national team IMO.

As for Ashwin, he may have talent, but there is simply no excuse for being so out of shape at 25 especially for a bowler. The motto should be shape up or ship out.
