He is a talented player, but he has been given a lot of opportunities now. He has played almost as many games as Virat has, but look at the difference between these two. this should be his last series if he doesn't perform he should be kicked out of the ODI team. He looks elegant when he is in good form but yesterday he just missed a straight delivery. As Rahul Dravid said. Talent is not only about how well or how elegantly you can play your shots but also about how good your temperament is.

Is Rohit Sharma our very own Tailunt? Absolutely mediocre career so far. Keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. Once in a while he plays a knock which can come only from a top class batsman, but when is it enough. He is not a fast bowler where India is short of capable players coming in. There are enough batsmen in the country. For one, Rahane has shown a lot more promise by scoring in England. Pujara might not be made out for T20s as of now, but he can certainly do well in ODIs because he does have all the orthodox strokes, which is enough for someone coming in the top 4. The only good performances he has is against West Indies and Zimbabwe. He is 26 years old, has been playing First Class cricket for 6 years and international cricket for 5 years. He has close to 100 ODIs now - that's a huge number of chances. I really don't see any reason to pursue with him further till a fair run has been given to Rahane and Pujara and maybe my initial feeling about his abilities was in fact wrong because Rohit still does thrive in mediocrity. I am sure if you pitch him against West Indies or in the IPL he will be back to scoring runs. Maybe I can't point the finger as to what is missing, but unabated failures against top opposition over 5 years and close to 100 ODIs calls for some tough decisions to be taken.

Incredibly over-rated and over-hyped by the media, I think most fans know that mentally he will never be able to cut it at international level. Had a dismal tour with the A team in WI and has had more than enough chances in the senior team. An Indian version of Bopara only with worse stats. Time to move on and accept he will never amount to anything.

You do understand that Harsha Bhogle isn't talking good about Rohit Sharma and hence the Mumbai lobby statement doesn't quite hold.

sigh i dont know whts so talented abt him ? there have been better hitters then him in our team in past and even in current team..also his technique has many flaws then iffy temprament... now playing lazy shots is not talent just style imo
