These two thugs are still world's best opening combo.
Ticz, Can you please explain how? How are they still world's best? Let's hear your explanation. WC2011 over more than a year and a half ago - plot these two after that.

Gambhir's whole ODI career has looks good because of SL and minnows. Sehwag can improve his game without going to domestic cricket. But for Gambhir, he has to be sent back to domestic level. Gambhir averages 32 in ODIs against Aus, SA, NZ, WI, Pak, Eng and his recent performances hasn't been good against these teams either. Averages 25 in 2012. We can always play him in ODI matches which do not involve those countries.

Sehwag, Gambhir slump worrying, says Kapil

"Of course, it is a cause of worry if players of that calibre don’t get runs," Kapil was quoted as saying in New Delhi by Press Trust of India. "They have big reputations and when you have such big reputations, then there is a case for you to defend that. They are big players and it is important for them to score runs not only for the team but also for themselves, otherwise there will be worrying signs."

For Sehwag' date=' I still believe he just 1 long inning to get back in the form. But Gambhir has to work hard on batting and he should be playing a full domestic season.[/quote'] Sehwag has looked miles better than GG in Test. After the tour to England he came back with 2 back to back 50's against Windies. I assume he scored 3 in that series. 2 60+ against Australia..he is just not turning it into a big one. GG's 80 in Australia was backed by a good start but struggled horribly in the middle.

That's why I said that he needs 1 good inning. Probably one double hundred in FC cricket will help him a lot. It would be great if he plays few matches and gets one such score. Gambhir's technique has gone horribly wrong and he isn't trying to change it. Even today he poked and missed on few occasions. Consistently playing limited over cricket isn't helping at all.

For Sehwag' date=' I still believe he just 1 long inning to get back in the form. But Gambhir has to work hard on batting and he should be playing a full domestic season.[/quote'] Sehwag is always likes this because of his style of batting. He is never in form, never out of form but before whenever he used to get start he will usually turn it in a big score but that is not happening nowadays. Even after getting reprieves, he gets outs. His reflexes and hand-eye coordination is no more the same. Look at how many times he got starts in last 1-2 years and did no make use of them. Remember NZ series, he got lot of lives but still could not pass 40s. If you think he can become consistent, I do not think so. He will be like that now because he is playing too many shots in tests without realizing that his hand-eye coordination is fading. He will have to change his game a bit and bat in middle order. See the ball, hit the ball formula will no more work for him. He is 34 now.

The two thugs put India in commanding position yet again. The story of India is the story of the two thugs. When these two thugs score, India win most of the times. When these two thugs don't score, India in trouble not sometimes, but always. LONG LIVE THESE TWO THUGS.
