Both need atleast an year at domestic level. Maybe Singh can play or India. Chand while promising needs to Work on his on side game. He seems clueless when tucked up ala Sehwag. Also too lose outside off. Great innings but he was lucky. I was more impressed by Aparijeet to be honest. More than the numbers it is the composure and technique.

Rohit sharma is fixed to India cricket team with fevicol. Only way he will be dropped is if some other Mumbai player comes up. MCA is going to make sure atleast one Mumbaikar other than Sachin is in the team.

Technically even Harmeet is from Mumbai. But Sharma should be tried in Tests once he gets his form back.

We should bring him in faster because of the way the seniors are exiting now. He should come in and spend some time now in the team when he can spend some time with Sachin and other seniors and gain some very important lessons for international cricket. Hopefully we have found a good batsman for future.

Why the worry? Shouldn't the side just be appreciated? Well, yes, but there are lessons to be learned as well - especially from India's 2000 U-19 World Cup team. That side, led by Mohammad Kaif, included Yuvraj Singh, Ajay Ratra and Reetinder Sodhi. Pause for a moment to ponder these names who were also there: Manish Sharma, Ravneet Ricky, Venugopal Rao, Niraj Patel, Shalabh Srivastava, Anup Dave and Mrityunjay Tripathi. Sharma and Ricky were stars at the 2000 tournament but failed to register much success afterwards. Ricky once admitted he made the mistake of thinking he would definitely play for India. Sodhi played 18 ODIs but couldn't make the cut in the long term. Rao (16 ODIs) and Patel ended up domestic giants but not much more. Ratra captained the U-19s to victory over England in a home series but became a victim of poor handling, and despite becoming the youngest wicketkeeper to score a Test hundred, struggled to find a Ranji team for a while. Srivastava was third on the wicket-takers' list in the 2000 U-19 World Cup but wasn't given his due. Disillusioned by the powers that be and unemployed, he switched to a Plate Group team last year, Railways, and subsequently joined the Indian Cricket League. Dave and Tripathi simple faded away. Only Yuvraj and Kaif made the step up.

Sandeep Sharma looked mediocre from the games I saw him play, bowled very well here, with some more strength and his skills, he can be our Philander, moves the ball both ways and on any day in air and of track makes batsmen look like Muppet. Harmeet is a fantastic bowler and he is very talented also in terms of batting, Ravikant might in couple of years be a 140 145 bowler who hits the deck and has a very good action, Unmukt is prodigiously talented and seems to be very strong minded guy and very mature, amazing how he built his innings. Baba can bat and bowl well, Akshdeep dd not make runs but that guy played couple of amazing strokes, he probably will mature a bit late. Kalaria was hopeless, would have loved to see M Sayyid, bowlers from England, Australia, SA were really good also.

dont know about domestic but definitely agree on the aparjith. bad luck that his blinder was taken while others had their dollies dropped.had he stayed match would have finished 5 over earlier.

Manish Pandey is ignored for no reason He deserves to play for A side. He is a prolific scorer im FC cricket. Still only 22-23.

Of all the players I saw Baba looked apart with his batting especially how secure he looked and how he took attack to Aussies in the finals after early wicket. He looks technically sound and to top everything he is excellent fielder and slip catcher. He needs couple of Ranji seasons and become strong.

Any under-19 match is won by few key players who are above the rest and rest of them all are passengers. If you get two good players of any under-19 squad that is very good achievement.
