Executioner Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 asswin could for BD at no. 6. although he isnt btter than our slas he will surely provide ann important variatin because he is an offie. better than other offies in BD.
Vilander Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Does he remind anyone of Laxman? Lazy shots & running' date=' supple wrists.[/quote'] there are similarities in appearance and style of play definitely. But not speaking of skill of batting of course.

Executioner Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 The awkard momemt when no. 8 batsman looks much more comfortable against the new ball then your openers #sehwag, gambhir
rkt.india Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 As an alrounder at 8, if he can average 35 in long run, will be good as a bowling alrounder.
GautiMaan Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Like watching Ashwin bat,but more often than not the spineless tail leaves him stranded
carnish Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Ash will have an average close to 35 after about 25 Tests. Mark My Words.

Lord Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 The awkard momemt when no. 8 batsman looks much more comfortable against the new ball then your openers #sehwag, gambhir not more akward to see a Bangladeshi fan criticising former no.1 team
Number Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 ^ Shouldn't matter. Everyone is entitled to post his opinions. By that way an Indian should never take part in a discussion about sub-30 avg. bowlers. :--D

ShebbySB Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Does he remind anyone of Laxman? Lazy shots & running' date=' supple wrists.[/quote'] :agree:.........Hell yeah I wanted to tell this for a long time,so I'm not the only one:dance:
ShebbySB Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Ashwin should bat at no.8 not higher than that. That'll add extra depth in the batting & we need another guy to support him at no.9.Zak could've done that but now his batting has declined a lot.Though we can't afford to play a bowler just because he can bat but it helps, just see England. They've Swann at 10.Right now Ashwin,Ojha, Zak & Umesh are our best bowlers, specially in home conditions. But barring Ashwin none can bat.It would've been gr8 to have likes of Irfan or Bhajji at 8 or 9 with Ashwin but their bowling isn't good enough at the moment.Chawla is a pretty decent bat but u can't replace Ojha with him just because he bats better plus Ojha has bowled really well.So nothing to do,we've to bat with 8 wickets for now.
Precambrian Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Think we should seriosuly consider 5 bowlers for eng and aus tests. Bhajji can come in at no.8. Ashwin cannot do worse than lolRaina at no. 7 anyways.

No.6? He could bat as a very good top order batsman for BD:cantstop: Averages more than any of your Test batsmen:giggle:
