vamos_rafa Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Personally Ashwin has been more dissapointing. Having said that, it should also be kept in mind that he has done well and is still young at his art and can learn. As for Kohli, would not say he's been a failure, but I still feel he can play a part in this series. Temperament-wise he's better off than Ashwin(on current scenario) to turn it around.
daryl1985 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Kohli because he has the potential to be a superstar but both are new to test cricket and we should give them time to establish themselves in the team.
daryl1985 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Team as a whole except for Pujara...Ojha might have got wickets but not any better than some of Kaneria's 5 wicket hauls. But individually everyone apart from Pujara. Disagree, he has troubled most English batsman (barring the left-handed Cook) and has looked our greatest wicket taking threat. The only criticism i have of him is that his stamina seems to be poor and has a tendency to bowl some awful deliveries late in the days play.
vvvslaxman Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Question would have been easier to answer "Who has been success in this series"
BERGKAMP Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 ashwin has duped us all into thinking he is a international class bowler, when in reality he is just a tall pie chucker. as for virat even stevie wonder can see he will come good. ashwin needs to be kicked out of tests for good. he is the bowling version of raina and uv.
rkt.india Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Ashwin's problem seems to be more of ability and temperament. He seems to lack patience to bowl a few tight overs without any variations, but at the same time his off break appears to be pretty innocuous off the pitch. He has nice flight and loop, but his off break doesn't do much off the pitch. That's the technical shortcoming he will have to work on by putting more body and finger into his action. It's also related to his weight and fitness where he probably can't get pivot in his action. For an offspinner Ashwin bowls from a bit too close to the stumps to right handers which does not help him turn the ball from outside off.
Number Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Once Kohli starts to rotate strike by hitting the ball softly and into the gaps, he will do better. Yep, needs to play with soft hands.
Crookbond Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Yep' date=' needs to play with soft hands.[/quote'] Boycott :--D
Sandeep99 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Fight of the failures, part 3 going on now..
Trichromatic Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 Kohli :headshake: Ashwin averages 51 with bat in this series. :cantstop:
Ras Al Ghul Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Fans are the failure.Dhoni can blame them for not supporting him enough.
adi B Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 yadav is a must..kohli`s been a major disappointment,but he`ll do good come nagpur
Manny_Pacquiao Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Two players I wouldn't criticise. Both have barely begun their careers. It's hard to get going in a losing team, especially if you are a batsman
Magneto Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 yadav is a must..kohli`s been a major disappointment' date='but he`ll do good come nagpur[/quote'] Choko will choke in Nagpur as well.
Number Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Choko will choke in Nagpur as well. Abe you removed that moniker and avi but not leaving the habit of calling him a failure in tests.:bumsmack::whack: Stop it altogether.
Magneto Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Abe you removed that monkier and avi but not leaving the habit of calling him a failure in tests.:bumsmack::whack: Stop it altogether. :hysterical: Okay, Virat Kohli has been the best batsman of this series Happy? gaurav92 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Ashwin has been a better batsman than Kohli and Kohli ha been a better fielder than Ashwin. :nice:
