JaiRamesh2 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Every run cook hits it hurts becoz of that fecker Jadeja dropped a dolly. Cook got away, looking really good now
Gollum Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Just the beginning. Expect Kohli and Pujara to fill their quota too. Ashwin at least a safer catcher than the others, pity that he isn't playing.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 dumbasses get paid millions and cant even practice slip fielding #shameful
vijay50 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 11.1 Pankaj Singh to Cook, 1 run, stays around the wicket, bowls length just outside off, Cook presses at it and gets a thick edge to third slip and it's dropped! Comfortable for Jadeja going to his left at knee height, very poor drop
BeautifulGame Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 These things happen during a transitional phase. The likes of Jadeja Rahane Pujara Kohli probably never fielded in slips before in domestic cricket much. With more experience they will get better. Its hard for these players to judge the pace and bounce when catches arrive in overseas grounds as well. Doubt the likes of Dravid Laxman or Sachin became great slip fielders without dropping a few when they were inexperienced. Even England are suffering from the same issues in the slip cordon.Ausses dropped a fair few after the likes of Hyden and Ponting retired.
Straight Drive Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Jaddu dropped a catch and it cost us about 70 odd runs. Cook batting on 82 now.
putrevus Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 how these drops are screwing team every fricking series, wtf is that fielding coach doing. People made fun of laxman as fielder but that guy was a great slip catcher, I would take a great slip fielder over good fielder any day. Our young guys none of them so far have become reliable slips catchers and it is costing team not just matches but series. This jadeja's drop might be series changer.

Yes but we have to identify 3-4 specialist and stick with them.ATM its too random.Kohli and Jadeja shouldnt be there. Vijay,Pujara,Rahane and Dhawan are best options

G_B_ Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 There need to be remedies put into place at the domestic level. You cant have a situation whereby the current crop of players becomes old and then its a new transitional phase of dropping sitters in the slips. On flat pitches they will really make India pay.

Lord Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Once again drop catch hurting us big time.Fielding coach has to do something and work with 3-4 fielders well.
G_B_ Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I dont see what the fielding coach can do? I am getting sick and tired of this transitional crap. Its like the be all end all excuse for anything wrong. Somebody like Rat has been fielding in the slips for close to 20 tests now.

If fielding coach can't do anything, then he shouldn't be there. Its his job Also slip fielding is harder than it looks. Its a specialist jobi.We need to identify 3-4 guys and work with them instead of trying anyone randomly. Now that Jaddu has dropped one, expect Bhuvi there in next game :cantstop:
express bowling Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 What the F is going on !!! #@ Another catch dropped ! This time by Dhawan off Shami. We must realize that good fielders elsewhere are not necessarily good slip fielders. Infact, most fielding positions should have specislists.
