Our slip fielding

Bloody atrocious  Just watch Sehwag act as if someone fired gunshots at him. The drop by Pujara in one of the previous tests cost us a gold brick as well. We better build some good ones or else all the potential hard work by batsmen/bowlers will be wiped out by missed opportunities.

Chawla to Ian Bell, no run, Sehwag drops another catch at slip. Tossed up googly outside off, Bell looks to cut and edges to Sehwag who just wasn't ready. He infact did not even hit his hands, he was actually surprised by it. Very poor indeed

Mohammed Shami to Gayle, no run, dropped! Gayle goes for the big drive against a full ball outside off and gets a thick edge, it flies to Ashwin at head height at first slip and he parries the ball. It lobs over his head, Kohli dives full length to his right from gully to try and catch it but fails to reach it, superb attempt

He actually laughs after dropping catches.what a moron.Kick these guys out
This! And he still had a fair chance to take the catch if he had turned around. Raina and Kohli tried to dive and nab that ball, but Ashwin was unmoved.

For all the bashing sehwag gets for his fielding ( and its warranted to some degree), he still remains the best slip fielding option available to India by a significant margin. His slip fielding is not stellar but it is above average and competent enough to be put in atleast one of the three slip positions for most sides. Especially against spin, Sehwag is an excellent slipper. Against pace he is an ordinary slipper but its not that common to have excellent slippers to pace, particularly first slip, for short men. In my time watching, Lara was the rare exception, an excellent short guy fielding at first slip to fast men. Alan Border too comes to mind but he too had a couple of inches on Sehwag.

Mohammed Shami to Robson, no run, dropped, Rahane the man of the day yesterday has put down a straightforward chance at first slip, Shami sends it at the back of a length and moves it away just a bit , enough to get the edge, whoch carries through to Rahane at second slip, he can't wrap his fingers around it, juggles it a few times, Jadeja tries to take that rebound but he can't, should take those
