He left them well. But he does not pull or hook like Pujara. Its a big drawback.

Credit to Vijay for sticking around for so long without playing a brain-dead shot especially in the 1st session. Didn't think he had it in him to buckle down, see off Aussies quicks (Pattinson & Siddle) and milk the rest.

Well that was the way players like Boycott, Tavare, Mark Richardson etc. were able to score - simply by occupying crease for long periods.

Vijay showed tremendous application at the crease, he almost never touched a ball outside offstump and bouncers. He played good defense to good length balls and milked the spinners. Yet his scoring shots are not so convincing, he plays some nice cover drive and leg side flicks, but otherwise predetermined shots for spinners which has come off well in this match.

What stereotype ? Agree, he tries to look good while on the ground. Bit like KP does but KP has natural swag.

why would you compare him with KP...KP is acomplished. Vijay is a rookie compared to him, if Vijay proves himself in the next couple of years, all this would look good like it does with KP now, its quite natural. Cheering for the veteran and booing the rookie.
