If you mean by openers, we don't have any at the moment. Barring Sehwag having an amazing recovery, we should look for openers in the Akash Chopra mould for the Saffie tour- someone who can blunt the new ball, take the shine off of it and not expose our middle order too much. As such, what India needs, is two openers who can average 25 in South Africa at a strike rate of 25-30. That will be job well done in my books.

Someone who can stand outside the crease to kill the outswing can do well against steyn. Dinesh karthik did that both in England and SA.

Unfortunately for KKD, he is not tall enough like Matty hayden to negate the bounce of short pitched bowling by standing out of his crease. For, if you are going to stand outside your crease to negate the swing, you better be 6 feet tall or more, like KP or Hayden, to ride the bounce. Else, Steyn and Morkel will pitch it short and kill you.

Clarke was even more dominating in australia But his 150 odd in south africa imo tht inning was better then sachin's hunderds in south africa.. Brilliant attacking knock on such a tough track
