Even from the worst case on record, we have never called a Kenyan cricketer a monkey, we called an Aussie who was part of a dominant world-beating side. We don't jeer the Irish or the Zimboks in the WC no matter how badly we trash them, but we will have lots of it for Lankans in the finals. Mumbai didn't pick on a weakling like say Vinay Kumar, it chose the most high-profile, bad boy of Indian cricket who is known to take on crowds, to test his mettle. The average CSK fan is a vastly different species that doesn't seem to like picking opponents their own size.

As the social media got bigger and bigger that reputation keeps enhancing.

You will notice that we never heard of this in the nearly half a century of visitor teams touring the country.
