Without trying to sound too negative, I'd like to think India doesnt have too many chances in CT. Firstly, all the players in the squad would have been really tired after IPL. We are talking 16 games each during Indian summer under a lot of pressure to perform and all the travelling to boot. It will take its toll mentally and physically. All the controversy around IPL may also have an effect on them. Second, it will also be difficult to unite and play as a team after playing against each other in IPL. It will take a bit of time to gel which could prove crucial in such a short, knock out type tournament. Third, the last time India played outside sub continent type conditions was in early 2012 in CB series in Australia. Since then, we have played all our cricket in slow and low conditions in SC. This is going to be a huge difference as the team will struggle to adjust to those conditions and many players in the side also have very little experience in those conditions. Aus, Eng and SA are anyway used to those conditions. Sri Lanka have recently played a test series in Australia and Pakistan have played in SA. I feel odds are stacked against India due to these reasons but it would still be interesting to see how they perform. If they start off on the right note and carry a bit of momentum, they could do well.

KKD instead of Vijay.....Vinay instead of Ishant......the rest is ideally what I'd go with......bowlers will have to cause damage upfront.....especially Irfan and Bhuvi.....Ashwin will be a containing bowler mostly....now.....people may think that I want Vinay in because he is also K'takan.....nothing of the sort.....Vinay is a decent lower order batsman as well as a competent fielder.....unlike Ishant.....bowling wise.....both are hit or miss.....

I think Irfan will most likely play. The conditions might suit his style of bowling. Bhuvaneswar Kumar, Umesh Yadav should play. Other batsmen pick themselves. If wicket is flat, they should pick Vinay Kumar as he has better control than Ishant. But on wickets which are helpful for bowlers, pick Ishant. Kartik should be the opener and Rohit Sharma in the middle order and leave out Vijay. I'm not sure Ashwin is in the best of form going by how he bowled in IPL and the pitches might not suit his bowling. Jadeja and Ashwin should both play in warm ups and then they should pick one among them.

our players should welcome some International Cricket now...playing against another nation can bring some confidence n pride back... after all the fixing/betting accusations n stuff, definitely morale is down...media is gonna haunt them and their private life now...its definitely very difficult mentally...it was certainly visible during the finals...

Add sarvan and samuels two guys who have always scored big against us, WI is the team that will smack us. SA as usual with that pace attack on helpful pitches against our experimental opening is going to run through them. I havent really followed Pak team off late so dont know how they are but in all honestly on paper they are the only ones who look beatable by our team. So beat Pak and then hope one of WI or SA do what they are good at choke and who knows we might get lucky and make it to semi though dont see us going to final.
