Vilander Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Aaron will be handy in LOIs when he comes back.BK' date='Umesh,Mohit,Shami,Ishant shd all be tried in ODIs before 2015 WC.[/quote'] i hope to see Rahul Shukla..
King Tendulkar Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 He has a good one day record. Yes' date=' he should play FC but play ODIs too. We should not miss on his One day bowling once he is back fit.[/quote'] Agree. All this wait 2 seasons of ranji before picking aaron is crazy. Once young and quick, cant waste time and must pick them before father time kicks in. If he does well for a half season and shows goos speed and form then straight in for me. Just hope he does get fit and healthy again
Number Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Hope we are not peaking too early...:haha: I hope and pray we continue the same in normal matches and have not peaked early.Umesh was just outstanding touchwood. I won't say we have peaked, our top has looked absolutely useless.
vishalvirsingh Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 Umesh cud have been brot back for another spell.... In today"s match it was Ok but in International ODI"s .. Umesh shud have been broth back....he gave 18 runs and got 5 wickets In 5 overs....n got a fifer.... In Main matches DRS will be implemented n Umesh bowls straight... Either the batsman hits or Umesh"s ball hits the Pad or Stumps....
ShebbySB Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 i hope to see Rahul Shukla.. Ya both Shukla & Suyal but they shd get selected in the India-A team first.
vishalvirsingh Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 Ya both Shukla & Suyal but they shd get selected in the India-A team first. actually both ShUKLA and Suyal look good enuf to get some chance as there is very little difference between them and the guys who r selected....both these guys have pace upto 145k and are only marginally slower than Umesh i am not sure whether they have the control to play international cricket as if they r consisitent and have the control they will surely play for india india will require atleast 6 to 8 top pace bowlers keepign into account odi's 5 days and t 20's....we shudnt be playing slow trundlers at all....
FischerTal Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 more deserving candidates are there for A tour. Shukla and Sayal shouldnt be given impetus just because of their pace
vishalvirsingh Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 more deserving candidates are there for A tour. Shukla and Sayal shouldnt be given impetus just because of their pace Thats where i disagree....Just See Umesh was provided some support and now he has started bearing some fruits.......... supporting a mediumpacer against support a fast bowler is like watering a plant which wud bear fruits but the fruits wud be so small that the fruit wud not fill anybody's tummy..... a fast bowler if trained and watered well will bear fruits and when fruits come they will be delicious..all of us enjoyed australia being destroyed........it was a warm up match, had it been a international match just think the amount og talk it wud have generated.......... umesh with new ball will bcome deadly.......... no point supporting trundlers.................

Do you india has atleast 100 good trundlers bowling between 130 to 140 k .. its the bowlers who can bowl faster than this which count or trundlers who can genuinely SWING it both ways that counts............

rkt.india Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 not everyone turns out to be umi. case in point' date= aaron. i dont see him recovering ever again to even play LOIs for India. plus, it is harsh on mohit to not even try him at international level despite a consistent performance in FC and IPL You are talking like bowlers have never suffered injuries and come back. Brett Lee had suffered even more serious injury than him at the age of 21 and look at how he turned out to be. Injuries at young age is normal for a genuine quick bowler. Mitchell Johnson had 4 such injuries which Aaron has.

G_B_ Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 yeah Mohit has earned his chance. Its not as if he is a trundler either. Was bowling in the 135 to 140 bracket in the ipl. While thats not express pace its not slow either.
rkt.india Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 but there is no guarantee if he will be a brett lee or a mitchell johnson. does that mean in waiting for Aaron to succeed' date=' we deny opportunity to people like Mohit?[/quote'] I am not saying to deny his opportunity. We need have a pool of pace bowlers anyway. These all guys in combination can create that pool.
G_B_ Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I would also give Kulkarni and India A shot. Thought he had a good IPL and also a good ranji 2012-2013 bowling Mumbai to victory in the semis and finals. His speed as well has been in the 135 to 140 zone
I6MTW Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 We have too many bowlers in the 130-140 zone. We need to get bowlers who can bowl in the 140+ category.
G_B_ Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 We have too many bowlers in the 130-140 zone. We need to get bowlers who can bowl in the 140+ category. yes but pace cant only be used as the only criteria. Punkaj singh Kulkarni Mohit Sharma Praveen Kumar Sid Kaul these bowlers should be given a chance for the A tour to South Africa.
I6MTW Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 praveen is done and dusted. He has been given too many chance. Pankaj Singh should be given but the reality is that he will never get selected. He's already nearing 30. Mohit Sharma and Kaul are the only ones in the 130-140 category that should be given a try. Kulkarni needs to prove more.
Rocky Balboa Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 @ G.B and we always wonder how come pakis keep on producing pace bowlers who can bow fast. They don't select bowlers based on their domestic record. They have lot of military medium fast bowlers who have far more wickets than they guys who got selected for Pak team. They consider u as a fast bowler only if u can bowl 140+. That sort of mentality was created by Imran Khan and they are just following his path.

Military medium bowlers never become wicket taking bowlers at international level even if they are good at domestic level. We may pick an exceptionally skilled medium pacer but there is no point in filling our team with them like we are doing now with Irfan and VK.
