Hur Rizvi Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 We surely are worse than kenya in batting department, what can be done now to improve Pakistan batting? My Solution: Give consistent chance to youngsters like Ahmed Shehzad,l Haris Sohail and make Umar Akmal bat in top order... I know even they are not very classy batsman but surely better than Malik, Farhat and Hafeez
deathmonger Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I don't think Pakistani batting will improve, at least say in the next 4-5 years. This I say cause you don't just GET good batsmen. You MAKE them. You need proper coaching facilities, A tours/Emerging Players Tournaments, a good first class system etc etc and all this needs money which the PCB doesn't have.
Tiger80 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 1) Improve your domestic cricket 2) Don't just get obsessed by fast bowling , teach your youngsters to idolise batsmen
Hur Rizvi Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 1) Improve your domestic cricket 2) Don't just get obsessed by fast bowling , teach your youngsters to idolise batsmen Dont think fast bowling obession has got anything to do with pathetic batting, Most of the youngsters playing in streets are intrested in batting, but we just haven't got enough talent in that department, In fast bowling we are blessed with talent

bulbul Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 May be you have to use trundlers in nets , Paki batsmen are always under trmendous pressure facing phasssst bolers day in day out , it dented their kanfidence.
ravishingravi Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 There is a talent issue here. There is bigger temperament issue. Batting first they are still pretty good.

deathmonger Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 That surely is what is required in longterm What to do in short term?? Don't know man. None of them are really good. Maybe give chances to some youngsters. At least they won'y be any worse. And maybe you'll find a good one.
FischerTal Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 ask your batting greats to mentor. surely, they cant do any worse than the current coaching staff.

Muloghonto Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Stop playing tapeball cricket. It really destroys batting technique worse than any 20/20 slugfest would. Batsmen cheat a lot (technique-wise) when they play tape-ball cricket. You have to when 80mph balls that look like leg-side wides pitch and swing to a foot outside the offstump. Of the current lot, you need Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali in the picture. Yes,they are slow and all, but Pakis must first address ability to bat 50 overs out, nevermind the run rate. You really need to drop Shoaib Malik unless he plays against India. Your top order should be: Hafeez Nasir Jamshed Azhar Ali Misbah Asad Shafiq I know its an unconvincing top 5 but thats the best Pakis have got and they pretty much have to hope that the batsmen put up enough runs for the bowlers to defend.
