cricketpitch Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Ashwin is still India's number 1 test spinner at the moment followed by Jadeja.
I6MTW Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 In ODI'S Ashwin can be predictable and you can calculate the deliveries he bowls. So you can play according to that and he gives away loose ones often and then the batsmen will gain confidence and play around him and then attack him. Jadeja is not like that. He can not be easily attacked. He bowls straight and it will be very risky to attack him, plus you can't predict him. The occasional turn will get the edge or even egg the batsman and get him bowled or stumped. Plus he doesn't need to rely on the pitch or turn, as he doesn't need to turn the ball much. So in ODI'S he's not far from being the best spinner. In tests he can bowl at a tight length with occasional turning and tough deliveries which would be difficult for batsmen to handle. So he would be a guy who would take 2-3 wickets per innings on non-spinning tracks based on this. and he is also very economical in t20's and usually when batsmen attack him, he will egg the batsmen for a couple of deliveries where the batsmen will have his fun and then he will get out. So he is a great thinker of the ball. He knows what to do in what situation.
rkt.india Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 this..based on england series i have picked ojha although SIR might outclass them in SC Even Ojha wont do much outside SC. He is at best a steady bowler who is not the biggest turner of the ball, neither has much variety.
King Tendulkar Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 Well on todays evidence its Sir Jadeja
King Tendulkar Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 for Tests? Well maybe yes! He is making us all fans and answering all his critics(including me). He is serious threat to fatwin for number 1 spinner slot in tests. SA tour will reveal a lot
Deleted_User_1 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Is this a joke?....It is SIR through and through!!!!
fineleg Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Sir is like the Creator. The Creator of all skills in the sport called cricket. He is the bestower of art and skill. Sir! in Test cricket #1??? - on what basis??
carnish Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Seriously, even now I am confused who should be the sole spinner for India in SAF, I guess Jadeja is making a compelling argument for himself but Ashwin still hasn't done much wrong. Its a good headache to have for Dhoni as both will be in the 15.
special K Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 All are club bowlers. England has the best spinners in Swann, Monty and Tredwell.
I6MTW Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 All are club bowlers. England has the best spinners in Swann, Monty and Tredwell. He's a mendis. Tredwell got smashed by us. He's a young bowler. Only Swann is better. Jadeja>>>Tredwell and Ashwin >>>>Monty Jadeja>>>Monty Ashwin>>>>Tredwell.
special K Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Ashwin is an Indian version of Shaun Udal. A joke bowler that English batsmen clubbed all round England.
adi B Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Ashwin is an Indian version of Shaun Udal. A joke bowler that English batsmen clubbed all round England. 1st win a test match in zimbabwe then talk :fishing:
msb1991 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Ashwin is my main choice. But who knows, Jadeja has started so well. It would seem that turn and variations are overrated if you are accurate...but surely that isn't true. Who knows? Maybe time will tell.
