Anderson is gradually turning into an ageing trundler. Without the right weather conditions he is starting to look toothless and has been treated like a net bowler by the Aussies. When you do bowl an Ishant Sharma over you know you have serious problems.

He's always been good in English conditions or in places where the ball swings in the air. For about 2-3 years he performed really well everywhere but now he seems to be losing most of it.

Jimmy is going thru now what Zak began to experience a year and half ago – After 2, 3 seasons of sustained good performances, all the wear and tear is finally beginning to catch up to his body. From an onlooker’s standpoint, it is difficult to understand or explain the sudden dip performance – Jimmy’s pace still seems to be up there (85-87 mph.. he never was a 90 mph bowler anyway..). The seam position at the point of release of the ball still seems immaculate.. yet, there’s a noticeable drop in the incisiveness of the bowling. Anderson’s decline further emphasizes the true greatness of someone like Steyn. This dude is born to bowl fast. He’s being doing his thing for 6-7 years straight now, which is jaw dropping for a fast bowler.
