However, will Kohli happily drop back down to number 4? That would be my greatest concern, from a personal point of view he will surely be thinking he can score most hundreds from number 3 and carve out the best possible legacy for himself.

Winning the games of course would be the priority, but I'd also be most interested if we can find 1 pacer who could be better than Umesh/Ishant and to have a look at Pujara's ODI skills.

Parvez Rasool is also one to watch out for. Though our ODI spin attack is settled (Ashwin + Jaddu) but who knows, if Rasool performs outstandingly well he'll have an outside chance to replace Ashwin. Ashwin's ODI bowling has been good but not great, batting has been not very good unlike his test batting, fielding has always been poor though he's been excellent in slips recently.

Sikandar Raza - Zimbabwe Scored 82 today and has a nice little story behind him.

Sikandar Raza's story isn't that of your everyday international cricketer. He is not a teenage prodigy, nor is he someone who had a burning ambition to play for his country. He journeyed through from his adolescence to adulthood and stumbled upon the sport he sometimes played as a child, only to discover he is quite good at it. Born in Sialkot in the northeast of Pakistan, Sikandar had told his parents when he was 11 years old that he wanted to be a fighter pilot. He wrote the exam that got him into Air Force college. He was one of 60 to have won a place among 60,000 applicants. But in his third year, he failed an eye test. He was told that 7 out of 10 people have the problem in normal life, but for him a dream was shattered. Not dissuaded, Sikandar got admitted to Glasgow Caledonian University, where he picked up cricket as a semi-professional. He moved to Zimbabwe, where his parents had resided since 2002, and he made his first-class debut in 2007. He made one half-century in nine innings before completing his studies and returning to full-time cricket in the 2010-11 season. He had a more fruitful time, scoring 625 runs at an average of 41. The following season was again decent as he developed a reputation as an aggressive top-order batsman. Sikandar kept doing well in the one-day and Twenty20 competitions at the time, so it was natural for the selectors to turn to him for a practice match against the visiting Bangladeshis in 2011 when Vusimuzi Sibanda was injured. He did well, and it became clear that he had a future in Zimbabwe colours. Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) began a process to get him the necessary papers that would qualify him to play for the country and in May 2013, he made his international debut for Zimbabwe, in the first ODI against Bangladesh, thus becoming the 116th player to appear for Zimbabwe in the format.

I really tell u guys even Unadkat has more chances to get a wicket or even Virat kohli too Vk bowls straight gentle medium pace and does not tries to push himself even if he does not get A breakthru...... Whoever scheduled this ODI series deserves a pat on the back. Pitch had bit of a bounce and carry and good weather. Great exposure for fringe player. We need more of this kind of stuff instead of playing Sri Lanka in sapping heat every 2nd week. Now that the SLPL has been cancelled, wouldn't be surprised if Sri Lanka Cricket Board begs BCCI for another series.

This series is being billed as the audition for the next in line group of players for the Indian team. I have to say, if this is how future is going to look, it is not looking too bright. If you ignore the usual suspects like Kohli, Rohit, Pujara, Jadeja etc, it is quite hard a spot a talent that you can feel excited about, especially in the bowling department. Amit Mishra is not a ‘future prospect’. He has had his moment, but has disappointed largely. Karthik’s issues with batting consistency is world famous. Rayudu is reliable without being spectacular. No disrespect to Unadkat or Vinay Kumar, but they clearly are well below international standards.

VK is valuable on this tour. He is like a 'control' on an experiment. We know how good he is so we can compare the performances of the other bowlers against him.

Rayudu didn't need to be spectacular in this match, though I'm sure he can be that if needed! He is an outstanding batsman who was getting lost due to petty politics in domestic cricket and we all know about it. He just needs opportunities and support to show his class! We just can't afford to lose talent like him.

I don’t think the word ‘outstanding’ is the right adjective for him.. Maybe ‘Above average’ suits him better. I watched plenty of him in the last few years of IPL. He’s solid without being spectacular. He may have the batting capability, but I have question marks over the mental aspect of things.
