kubrickian Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Time to take the big decision and drop Sharma for last 2 games. He did well in Champions Trophy and West Indies tri series.
cowboysfan Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I would drop raina,jadeja and vinay for mohit,rasool & pujara.
rkt.india Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 He scored 5 of 25 last game' date=' 3 of 18 this game when Virat was batting easily and he made the pitch look like the bowlers were bowling grenades, either not playing his natural game or his temperament is failing him, this is where Shikhar is good he backs himself.[/quote'] These pitches are not that easy to score of once fielders are inside the circle. Even Kohli was 24 of 49 at once. Key is persistence which Kohli has learned. Guys like Rohit and Rayudu has to learn quickly.
skindia Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Rohit should be dropped forever people forgot his single digit scores b4 champions trophy. Even in champions trophy he played slow.if u play continuous matches,u bound to get success in 2 out of 10 matches.

skindia Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Uthappa will make comeback after challenger trophy.

Trundler27 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Ever since Ganguly's time as captain there is now this trend in Indian cricket to 'back youngsters' and for all captains since Gangu that means crappy good for nothing tailunts like the sharma's, chawla, veenie get a super long rope while denying other more deserving candidates. I mean gangu backed guys like bhajji, yuvi, zaheer because it was obvious that they possessed class. I would be surprised if mohit, rasool, pujara get any game because of this mentality. Rahane has already had a few chances so I'm not as concerned about him being given a game.

I have high expectations of Kohli as captain (agressive mindset) and I hope he gives enough chances to Pujara, Mohit and Parvez
Cricashfaq Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Opening Partnership for 2015 World Cup? Shikhar Dhawan has impressed all of with his batting skills and taking the opening slot. However, Rohit Sharma is somewhat inconsistent. So,who will be your choice for the 2015 World Cup with this current squad?

maniac Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Dhawan-Rohit ,need to be given a long run. I will say Gambhir as backup,His Poking may be an issue in Australia again he has done well in ODI pitches there in the past
G_B_ Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 long way to go imo. lot can happen from injuries to loss of form. How about rather than speculating we take it as it comes? for all we know Chand could really emerge.
G_B_ Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 one thing for sure though we need 3 proper openers in the side. 2 playing and 1 back up.

Not sold on him when it comes to playing quality pace especially on those tracks....WOuld love to be proven wrong....It's always good to go with Experienced players in a WC by that I dont mean Oldies but say someone like Virat in 2011,SRT in 1992,SG/RD in 99
cowboysfan Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Pujara has to play as an opener,he cant @3 in odis.
Austin 3:!6 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Dhawan - Sehwag. I am still not convinced his ODI career is over. For a great batsman like him its only a matter of time he comes back into form. I want to see Viru smashing Gul again in a world cup match with Shastri roaring - "Pulled away...Hard!!" Epic
Cricashfaq Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Pujara has to play as an opener' date='he cant @3 in odis.[/quote'] No.3 is reserved for Kohli and it seems that spot will not be taken easily with such an amazing form.
