G_B_ Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 the way Sir is bowling and with Aus going to play us in India, i get a feeling the difference in bowling averages between Sir and Ashwin is only going to increase........ I personally think its time for us to look at Sir as our premium frontline spinner rather than an allrounder. Especially away from home on wicket which favour seam bowlers. While Ash has done well recently in the test matches, i cant help but feel that he is below Sir in the spinning pecking order. Ash better start picking up wickets in the LOIs as Mishra has just put in a good performance. He does not have the best of records in international T20s especially.
saneindian Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Sanga will get it In the last 12 months, Jaddu has 382 runs@48, 38 wickets@19 including a MoM in CT final and 7 catches Sanga has 956runs@64 , 25 catches and 4 stumpings. Jaddu's MoM in CT final should tilt this in his favour. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=2;orderby=runs;spanmax1=04+Aug+2013;spanmin1=04+Aug+2012;spanval1=span;template=results;type=allround
StriKe Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 ICC @cricketicc 4m Ravindra Jadeja is the first India bowler since Anil Kumble in December 1996 to top the ODI rankings #iccrankings #Cricket ravindrasinh jadeja @imjadeja 3m Happy friendship day to all my friends ..... Jai hind
StriKe Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 The first Indian bowler to achieve to rank 1 in bowling!!! Got selected in the squad for scoring triple centuries but turned out to achieve more in bowling!! http://www.relianceiccrankings.com/playerdisplay/odi/bowling/?id=1911 Anil Kumble - Highest Ranking > 1 - ( 06/11/1996 )
hassan_113 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Ashwin has more variations and his pressure means that people need to attack Jadeja. Saying that, Ravindra has bowled brilliantly in recent times and deserves his success. Long may it continue. I want to see him being able to make test 100s now.
StriKe Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 ICC @cricketicc 19m Ravindra Jadeja is the fourth India bowler after Kapil Dev, Maninder Singh and Anil Kumble, to claim the top spot http://bit.ly/14rMbQF
rkt.india Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Maninder Singh? lol Maninder Singh was a brilliant bowler, a prodigy who could not live up to his expected talent.
Crookbond Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Maninder Singh was a brilliant bowler' date=' a prodigy who could not live up to his expected talent.[/quote'] He was replaced by another so called spinner named Anil Kumble as well.
Clarke Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 What a climb to the top by the champ :hatsoff: As per rediff: Kumble had topped the table for 11 matches in November–December 1996. Overall, Jadeja is the fourth India bowler after Kapil Dev (March 1989), Maninder Singh (December 1987-November 1988) and Kumble to claim the number-one spot in ODIs.
BeautifulGame Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 And :hatsoff: to Dhoni to backing him through thick and thin despite all the accusations and abuse . It's not just about talent more often but need a long rope and backing to succeed particularly if u are young. We are lucky to have Ganguly and then Dhoni in this regard
cowboysfan Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 he realy is an allrounder, his fielding makes up for his batting.
BeautifulGame Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 His batting is more than good enough. Just need experience and confidence to produce consistently batting wise .CT final was an excellent knock under pressure
