@IndiaToday Has Yasin Bhatkal been arrested because he is Muslim? This has happened in the past: Samajwadi Party leader Kamal Farooqui.
Waiting for Nitish Kumar to call him Damaad of Bihar very soon. And Bhatkal lawyer tells Patiala Court "I do not know who is Yasin Bhatkal. My client is Mohammad Ahmad." The drama has begun.

It's a mystery: why Bihar cops' kept hands off Yasin Bhatkal The Bihar Police's ‘disinterest’ in seeking remand of top Indian Mujahideen (IM) operative Yasin Bhatkal and his associate Asadullah Akhtar despite Bhatkal’s links to Darbhanga-Samastipur region in the state has come under intense scrutiny. After participating in a joint operation with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to arrest the duo, the Bihar Police handed them over to the NIA. They were flown to Delhi on Friday morning in a special BSF plane. There was speculation that the decision was either based on orders from above that Bhatkal should not be held on Bihar soil ‘longer than absolutely necessary’ or that the police was ticked off for initially claiming ‘big success’ after the arrest. After the initial ebullience, a much subdued Bihar DGP Abhayanand, who goes by one name, later refused to give any details about the operation on Thursday. On Friday, he said, “The arrests were the outcome of a joint operation between the central and state forces. We have also played a role in the arrests. Sometimes, we meet with success, sometimes not.” He refused to answer any questions based on “speculations”. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, an Intelligence Bureau (IB) official said, "The state government seemed to be in an undue haste to get rid of Bhatkal and Akhtar. All the good work done by the state police officials, particularly Motihari superintendent of police, has been nullified. Had Bhatkal been held in Bihar, the Bodh Gaya serial blasts case would have been cracked and his connections in the state and his future plans would have been laid bare," he said. Chief minister Nitish Kumar is yet to issue a statement on the arrests. Bhatkal is believed to be the main recruiter of IM and has set up countless sleeper cells in Bihar as well as find new hide-outs. Bihar ADG, special branch, Rajesh Chandra said, "There was no case against Bhatkal or his accomplice on Bihar soil and as the NIA already had a look-out notice for him based on a non-bailable warrant issued on July 18, the Bihar Police could not hold him,” he said Asked about arrest of 11 IM operatives from Darbhanga and how the area was becoming a hub for anti-national activity, a police official said all arrests in the case were carried out by state forces from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Karnataka and Chennai in close cooperation with the NIA and the Bihar forces had no part in them. Regarding the Bodh Gaya blasts, the official said, “In view of the international ramifications of the blasts, the case has been transferred to the NIA. Also, interrogators could not find any link between IM and Bodh Gaya blasts after questioning Bhatkal at Motihari.” http://www.hindustantimes.com/India-news/Patna/It-s-a-mystery-why-Bihar-cops-kept-hands-off-Yasin-Bhatkal/Article1-1115153.aspx --------------------------------------------------------------- Nitish Kumar is showing his true filthy face now.I have lost all respect for this sick opportunistic man. how low will these politicians go to catch votes. Are these politicians not branding all Indian Muslim as terrorist supporters by assuming these steps are going to make them popular with muslims. If I were an Indian muslim...I would be deeply offended and never vote for these bastards.

You are here: Home » National » Rs one lakh 'eidi' to wife gave away Bhatkal's Nepal hideout Rs one lakh 'eidi' to wife gave away Bhatkal's Nepal hideout New Delhi, Aug 30, 2013 (PTI): Sending Rs one lakh home as an 'eidi' (gift) to his wife before the Eid festival early this month perhaps proved to be Yasin Bhatkal's undoing and gave away the Nepal hideout of one of India's most wanted terrorists. This transfer of money, which was done through normal banking channels, alerted sleuths of Intelligence Bureau(IB) whose suspicions were aroused on the possible plans by Bhatkal to enter India to indulge in some terror attack or flee from Nepal's Pokhra area. Increased surveillance led to the arrest of 30-year-old co-founder of Indian Mujahideen(IM) at Indo-Nepal border at 5.30 AM yesterday bringing to an end a successful operation of the IB which developed a vast human network spanning from Delhi to Bihar and Nepal to nab the man wanted in two dozen blast cases. Known as a ghost bomber, Yasin, who managed to give the slip to police after the terror attacks in which he was involved, told his interrogators during preliminary questioning that the money sent to his wife in India was meant for expenses for Eid festivities on August 9. The actual identity of Yasin, who is branded as the face of modern day terrorism, is Mohammed Ahmed Zarar Siddibaba. Yasin, who also had another alias of "Shahrukh", told interrogators that he had visited Dubai in 2004 where he worked at a sports shop before leaving for Karachi, official sources said. He later went to Los Alamos in the New Mexico of the US before returning to India, the sources said. Tracing his terror career, the sources said that he had allegedly supplied explosive material to suspected IM bomb planters in the 2008 Delhi and Ahmedabad blasts. Information about the whereabout of Yasin between 2006, the year of Mumbai serial train blasts for which he was allegedly responsible, and 2008 were not available but security agencies suspect he could have flown out of the country to avoid arrests. Now in 12-day custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Yasin had been earlier arrested by Kolkata police in 2009 in connection with a case pertaining to Fake Indian Currency Notes. The sources said he managed to come out on bail. Wanted in 2008 Ahmedabad and Delhi blasts, German Bakery blasts (2010), Chinnaswamy Stadium and triple blasts at Mumbai in 2011 and in Dadar Kabutarkhana bomb blasts, Yasin's questioning may throw more light on 2010 Jamia Masjid blast ahead of Commonwealth games and Cyberabad blasts. Scores of people have lost their lives in the bomb blasts in which Bhatkal was allegedly involved. A combined team of intelligence agencies was questioning Yasin in the national capital.
Can't believe this terrorist used a white/legal channel to transfer money to his wife. Blood Money this. What good is Eid celebration if money like this is used!

Except we see these tactics being repeated day in and day out. Surely the parties have some ground level knowledge that makes them come out in support of terrorists.

Guess I wasn't wrong in my earlier assessment of posters equating terrorism to Muslim support.
I think the problem is not equating of terrorism support to Muslims. That is absolutely wrong, why would a person say my neighbour who is a Major in Army and Muslim and happy family man would want to ruin his own coutry, he will never. But there should be a reason why Farooqi, Nitish, Digvijay and also the Minority minister would say something which goes against the Home Ministry of India. And that reason is this particualr community worldwide plays and loves to see themselves as a victim. This makes them a sense of pride by saying see our community is targeted. They would never vote for a terrorist but they would certainly vote for the person who will prove to them that they are targeted and being victimized.

You are way off the tangent. This particular case as well as the one about Tunda and the earlier arrest through Saudi qualify as arrests through diplomatic channels. No country wants it's name publicized in such scenarios to minimize diplomatic fall outs with countries who might be sympathetic to them, in this case Pakistan. Thus, such operations are kept hush hush as much as can be. You can read up on how media reports about Saudi and UAE involvement died down after a couple of days on previous arrests. Some SP loony making some basket comment means as much as some basket BJP leader's comments being equated to Modi by me - I've never done so. If the issue gets undesired publicity, there will not be any future arrests.

There cannot be two ways of dealing with a scenario Outty. Either we will have to have faith in our Home Minister and other Govenment Organizations responsible for internal security or we will have to totally discard their theories. We have a government minister named Rehman Khan who says, "There is no such organization as IM". We have Congress PArty spokesperson Digvijay singh who says Batala Encounter was fake. Remember both of these persons are going against their own Home Ministry. Now why they did so is the question are these Basterds jo shayad apne baap ke bhi sage na ho suddenly become so sympathetic towards a particular community. No they try to create a sense of confusion to prove that a particualr community is victimized. What will this lead to, certainly first thing 25% of vote share of BJP would be gorn because then they will somehow try to draw a picture ki see if they will come to power they will harrass you more. And this particualr community people who love to see themselves victimized will agree to this confused theory. This is dangerous precendent set by Congress which they might call a political stunt this is more dangerous then nationalistic approach of BJP.

I think that is where we fundamentally differ - there are trolls like Diggi Raja and Swamy and there are the actually policy makers like Sonia, Modi, Advani etc. I am not ignoring the rest of your post, but want this trollbaazi to be cast aside if we can.

When Digvijay says Batala Encounter was fake, the effect on security forces, the effect on Martyrs' families is pretty bad, muslims feel targeted and alienated, suspicion and hatred created in hearts of majority community for the minority commonity. These are atrocious comments made for gathering votes, not mere trolling.

And is Swamy part of ruling government. Do you know there is a difference in Digvijay and Swamy designation. If Swamy says something of this sort while being in government hang him but to justify Diggi raja comment by equating it to Swamy is something a true secular can do. After all you are inclusive by your thought.
