People claim with CSA BCCI relation going sour and elections in India in 2014 around the May mark the BCCI is not looking to take many chances and will have england as the back up. Will also get Indian players used to English conditions ahead of 2014 tour to England. Matches to start at 11 am Uk time (4:30 India) and 2:30 pm ( 8 pm India). UK has a larger Indian expat audience than CSA. Franchises can make good money from ticket sales. UK has enough grounds. 8 in total capable of hosting games. Weather (rain) and tax issues remain a barrier. Related to this rumour is that Alex Hales and Lumb , the Nottinghamshire pair are in conflict with their employers Nottinghamshire (Trent bridge) to play in the IPL which many in the English PCA (players association) feel has a chance of being hosted in this country and they claim to have forced the ECB to move the tests to June. ECB dont mind fielding a weakened team for the T20s and ODIs v Sri lanka. similar to whats happening now with Aus. I must stress, this is a rumour as of now and has no substantial evidence to support it.

Even though i live in the uk and would love to goto the matches, it does not look good when India has to move a tournament with the general elections. As per my assessment, Indian general elections are held in phases. I am sure they can move it around. India has many grounds located in many different part of the country. For example some mumbai matches can be played in Nagpur when the elections are in mumbai. The obvious pro of keeping the IPL in England will be it will expose a lot of our players (some 200 odd players in the squads in total) to the English conditions. That has to be a great experience. Weather is the biggest issue in all this. It does traditionally rain in April in the UK quite a bit...

You wont get as many Indians to watch IPL games, they mostly back the national side. English crowds are usually subdued and too quiet for IPL or T20 cricket.

Most others range from 15-20k when it comes to permanent capacity. Provided there are two matches on the same day in the ground there will be people. Lords and the Oval especially should see turnouts. Weather is the biggest issue in all this. I just dont think that the you can have a tournament without atleast 30% of the matches being washed out
