I am not saying whatever happening is the best thing since sliced bread.
There are middle grounds between something despicable and being "the best thing since sliced bread".
We people of the country are as much to be blamed as the political parties because people have their own wisdom too and it is them themselves who indulged in these things. Those politician wont go on the streets carrying guns and kill people. No, they wont. They can only give speeches. Its a common man who will take everything to himself without giving an iota of thought to the effect and influence of it, either right or wrong and then when everything is over, we start blaming politicians that they provoked people, don't people have their own brains to use, and forget that whatever happened was done by us, not politicians. Who are killed, common men, who killed them, common men.
Of course, the ultimate responsibility lies in the hand of the person who committed the act, that does not mean that the ones who provoked it are given the proverbial clean chit. Inciting hate speech and violence is illegal in most countries for a reason - in the influence of these things the mob mentality sets in.
What politicians did was just a part of their job. This is the inherent nature of the politics. Moral of the story is most of the people are immoral, not just politicians and all pay for that they did and are doing. Blaming politicians is not a solution. You blame and punish one, one more will stand up some other, do same thing, and same thing will happen again at some other place. Who actually is the problem, the real culprit is, we, the people of the country and I don't give a damn what happened to them.
Huh? Part of job? Is this what our political discourse is reduced to? Inciting hatred and communal riots is part of the job? Is this why we cast our votes? And where do these politicians come from? I can guarantee, not from Mars, but from between you and me.

Modi should steer clear from some of the BJP clowns.. Cong will drag him through lot of mud till next election cuz of others mistake ..
Modi is busy ensuring he is declared as PM candidate and not Advani though I think it is Advani should get one more chance and not Modi.

Their job is to win and come in power and for that, they will go to any extent. It is like a war within which they have to win by hook or crook. Sometimes, they will cross the line and do illegal stuff for which they must be punished according to law and set examples for others, but it is our responsibility to understand the situation and overlook them and use that little thing called brain that we have. This is the biggest reason our country is not going anywhere because we do not use our brain and see everything from others perspective, believe what others say, and understand what others define and derive for us.

Please, not Advani at all. He's as easy a target as Modi for the seculars and has pretty much run out of steam. pfft, wrong thread for this discussion.

So' date=' how many times has that happened? :dontknow:[/quote'] This is what has never happened in Independent India and these thing have repeatedly and still we haven't learned anything from our mistakes and behave like toys in the hand of politicians and biased governance is one of the biggest reason for that. Politicians will keep milking people's vulnerability towards religion, caste, language, region, etc. and the same cycle will continue to repeat itself and this what is happening now too. This is the dark side of a democracy like India.

The blame for all this falls on s.p govt like the blame for gujrat riots was on modi.
just for clarification, wasnt there any outside/opposition influence in Gujarat riots?

Sorry but outsider has head in sand. Does not get UP otr India. Living a dream world. Apparently utopia untill evil Modi arrived! UP has laways been polarised and will continute to be. Many riots and tensions there well prior to Mr shahs arrival and any modi influence. Many areas have at least 2 to 3 mass tension flare ups a year between the two comunities, often related to youngsters i.e getting in to fight or girls. Why suddenly outsider is pretending that all was love and harmony. Then suddenly shah and modi arrives and they turned against each other all of a sudden. O come on stop spouting this BS. Politicians cant make people fight hate, there must also be be some hate already there. I reapeat UP has many flare ups between muslim and hindu for many many years. Or are we blaming Modi and Shah for them as well:hysterical: Next Modi will get the blame for all the deaths upon partition, that was Modi as well was it? Really getting desperate trying to blame modi for these latest clashes in Muzzaffaranagar, amkes you look rather foolish and so obvious seeing your agenda in despeartion to pin blame on him

Communal riots deadlier in UP than in other states NEW DELHI: Communal riots in Uttar Pradesh are always deadlier than the rest of the country with more people likely to die in a communal incident in UP than in any other state. Home ministry data on communal violence across the country between 2005 and 2013 (till August) shows that in UP, one in every four incidents is fatal. The national average stands at one death for seven incidents. With 260 deaths, UP accounted for over 25% of all deaths (1,006) in communal violence in the country between 2005-2013. Ironically, UP is not even the state with maximum communal incidents, it is Maharashtra but the latter recorded far fewer deaths. Compared to its nearest rival (Madhya Pradesh) in the ignominious category, UP is ahead by 40% and if the death toll of the recent riots is added, the figure would touch 100%. According to the data, while UP recorded almost the same number of incidents of communal violence as Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh (the two other states recording high number of communal incidents year after year), it witnessed far more deaths than the two states. While Maharashtra recorded 1,049 incidents in the period, its death toll was 134. UP recorded 1,045 incidents but its death toll was 260 (excluding the Muzaffarnagar riots). Similarly, MP recorded 1,006 incidents with a death toll of 159. Thus, while UP recorded four incidents less than Maharashtra, it had 126 more deaths. The rate of deaths (per communal riot) also puts UP ahead of others. While Maharashtra clocked a rate of 12.8% and Madhya Pradesh 15.8%, UP had a rate of 24.8%. The national average for the period stands at 15.6%. Interestingly, Gujarat, with the blemish of one of the worst communal riots recorded in independent India's history, pales in comparison to UP and the two other states. Since 2005, Gujarat recorded 508 incidents of communal violence (less than half of the three states), and had a death toll of 56 with an effective rate of deaths of nearly 11%. Total number of communal incidents for the period stood at 6,444 with a death toll of 1,006.
