Tendulkar has reached a point where he should not expect honorable exit anymore. Nobody denies Tendulkar at his very best will do well on any surface. But he doesn't have to prove it again and again at the expense of promising youngsters. I have a doubt Tendulkar might retire before SA series in India which is what he would prefer. Completely agree. He should announce retirement before the series similar to what Ganguly did. He got a standging ovation from crowd and his team mates carried him on the shoulders. Both Rahul and VVS deserved the same treatment but missed it. Hopefully Sachin dosen't.

Through out Tendulkar's career, he has had some little minor poor runs and people post 2004 have commented about him not retiring or advising him to call it a career. And what he does? after few games he comes out with something special always, with a special innings few here and there and he carries on the Indian torch. At the age of 37, the guy has did something which had never been done before in International cricket. He hit a double hundred in ODI's. I mean why? Why only him. Why wasn't someone else able to do for that long, why only he was the first one to do it? Even at such age, he is able to do things which some of the other young talented cricketers at their peak aren't able to achieve. He still is a special player who might not be as consistent as he was before, but still a wicket every bowler wants and ever team needs in or to put Indian team under pressure.

He had two 50s in his last 12 tests. There certainly are young batsmen available who will do better than this. If we always keep playing seniors who are not performing then how the hell the younger players will get their chances. Most young players wont be able to do what Dravid and VVS did, but it does not mean, you keep playing them even if they are not doing well. when Sunil Gavaskar retired everyone asked, now who? Everyone said we wont have another batsman like SG but then came SRT. Isn't it? When a star falls, another star is also born to take that place.
