According to a report in Hindustan Times, Chappell has refused to accept the terms and conditions of BCCI. For the Indian cricket board it's not about choosing the best names for the commentator's job, but to choose those who agree to their terms. The BCCI has mandated that commentators must not criticise the Indian team selection, its opposition of the Decision Review System or speak on the Board's administrative matters. But despite huge compensation on offer, Chappell has declined the offer. Chappell was offered the opportunity by the main broadcaster ESPN, but Chappell declined by refusing to accept the BCCI's terms and conditions.
"I was invited by ESPN to do commentary. I emailed back asking who I was working for and the reply was; I was contracted by ESPN but I would be subject to BCCI restrictions," Chappell told HT in an e-mail interaction. "I emailed back to ask what these restrictions were and was told; 'I couldn't talk about Indian selection, DRS or administrative matters. I responded saying I didn't feel I could do my job properly under those circumstances and therefore declined the offer." added Chappell

Gosh cricket is fast going down the toilet. It barely resembles the game anymore.
At least we'll see the back of Tendulkar soon, eh.

"I couldn't talk about Indian selection, DRS or administrative matters" No doubt BCCI is being bully....but is there a need for an Australian to talk about Indian Selection and Indian Administration ? DRS is a controversial topic to talk about, we all know there are still some flaws in the reviewing system. As a commentator one need to talk about "cricket" and what's going on the field rather than talking about other boards and administrators. No offence against Chappell but If I would have been him, I would have taken the offer and would have mind my own business by just being a commentator.

if you all think removing srini will change the affairs.. keep living in the dreamland.. Eversince IPL came into existence, this bullying went into another level and its only getting worse.. BCCI was, is and will always be a pathetic organization since its being administered by a bunch of filthy crooks..

^ please dude. Things were never this bad under Pawar or even Manohar. Manohar especially was a very good BCCI chief. He kept in the shadows

Poor form really. People say Australian and English commentary is biased which it is but at least they are allowed to criticize everything. I don't even see why the BCCI need to be so controlling of everything. It is not like people would listen to Ian saying what the selections would be.
