Generally, genuine quick bowlers and seam & swing bowlers complement each other and increase each other's efficacy. Having just a one dimensional pace attack , whether entirely pace dependant or entirely skill dependant is not really coveted, isn't it ? Johnson and McCay complemented each other whereas our attack had the skill of Bhuvi but the genuine pace of someone like Umesh was lacking.

Bhuvi is a bit low on pace right now. He rarely hit 130 in Pune. Usuall he can crank it up to 137

I do know Dhoni even sent Ashwin to face Johnson cause he wanted to avoid him in an IPL game. Not trolling anybody or trying to mock CSK fans, but I lost a lot of respect for Dhoni on that day. Still rate MSD as a player, but the halo has slipped. People like Sachin for eg never shy away from the situation. Sachin always opened.

I'm pretty confident that Dhawan has the right technique to defend the good balls and respect them. Raina, Yuvraj, Dhoni are proven failures (Rain's innings was horrible to say the least!). Kohli, well, we all know he can't handle good bowlers. Rohit is the only batsman who can take on good bowlers and come out triumph, but he has serious temperamental issues

Only Raina struggles a bit against the short ball and even has improved a lot recently. Other batsmen in the lineup are good against bouncers. Just fyi, when a bowler bowls at 150 kph and pitches short and gets bounce, no batsman in the world will find it comfortable.

Rohit has great temperamental issues (and quite a loose technique to my liking), no denying that... South African tour (if it happens ) will be the test for Kohli and we'll see how he handles Philly and Dale

Dhawan has not proved anything yet, he had great start now other teams must have done their homework on him now, we need to see how he responds then only he would become main stay.

^ to be fair to Shikar. He actually had a poor start to his ODI career in the Windies. Got dropped. Worked on his game for 2 years or so and came back with a bang. So he has probably analysed where he failed and worked on it. No doubt his average is slipping from the 50s to now the low 40s since the champions trophy. But i think he will stabilise in the mid 30s with a good strike rate.
