We are just 3-4 days away from Sachin saying goodbye to cricket. Honestly tell who is going to cry seeing sachin leaving the cricket field? I will. :((

There is nothing to cry mate. Sachin is leaving on a good note, anyway he will be associated with BCCI and cricket even after retiring just like Dravid, Ganguly and Kumble. His plan (after retirement) is to do talent hunt at grassroot level (may be set up an academy) and train his son. Cricket will miss him, some good memories indeed.

No. Only time I cried a bit was when India won the world cup and that was also some little tiny happy tears which eneded right away and I started celebrating. Big loss to Indian cricket but would feel same emotions which I had when Kumble and Dravid were leaving the team. Will feel little shallow and numb when they lift him on their shoulders and parade him all around Wankhede Stadium, but I don't think I will cry.

Will wish him well like Dravid/Laxman. I know he has a career that is much longer than their careers. 10 years back i could not imagine him leaving. He is not exactly leaving on a high note despite what he might do in the last Trst. So disappointment will be less for lot of fans. Yes sure there will be some nostalgic feeling and the fact that we may never see him in Indian colors might give us that feeling. Has to wait and see whether we will actually miss him as a person on the field.

We reserved a sports bar for the final. It was a great experience, watched the whole match with a group of friends. Almost everyone cried when Dhoni smashed that six.

Giving due credit to sachin i will say he overstayed, shld have gone 2yrs back. We cry when we get emotional and this is no such big deal :headshake:

I will be phaacking relieved. It is waaaaaay past time. Legacy is already tarnished with a pedestrian average of sub 54 for the "greatest modern day batsman". However, I will lose interest in following closely this Indian team.

You are saying that now, but tell you these guys Dravid, Tendulkar have instilled enough patriotism and nationalistic feeling among us that even though we might feel a bit sad when they leave, we would continue to support and follow the game even after they have left. I didn't watch much of Gavaskar, probably you did, but I am sure lot of people would have felt sad that time too. May be not as much as this time. I felt gutted the day I heard Dravid call it quits, those were few sad hours, this Tendulkar retirement period too, but nothing is going to keep me from stop following the game. It's jus the moment that people feel they would stop following or lose passion. I am sure, they won't lose that passion ever.

I was more crazy about Gavaskar not because I think he was a better batsman. I have enjoyed SRT more, but I was more tied to cricket in the 80s. After Gavaskar retired, I did not follow cricket closely for almost 15 years (also did not help that I came to the US in late 1990). Similar thing would happen now, I am afraid. I just do not feel the urge to follow it closely. I guess I will not be able to get over the fact that he could go out on a high like Sunny but languished for 2+ years instead going out on a low. It will take a lot of time for that feeling to go away.

There will be many great victories which will happen in Indian cricket, but seinng your dream come true to see your team win the world cup which you have been dying to see, is a brilliant feeling.
