End of a wonderful career. Congrats Kallis. IMO he could have carried on for some more time. Showed how valuable he's to SA in the 1st test, bowled 30 overs in the match. "hail: Leaves a huge gaping hole in SA Test squad now ahead of the clash with the Aussies.

Scary good cricketer for almost his entire career who has obviously lost the edge due to age catching up.... :hatsoff: for an amazing career JK! In addition to his great skills with both bat and ball I remember him taking the most stunning catch ever when he ran back from mid-off (i think) and dived further back to grab a skier... simply a great athlete overall

He could have continued as a pure batsman for a while longer. Maybe intense media focus on his bad form for the year got to him and he decided to just walk away?

Surprised with his decision a bit. I could have continued a bit more in test matches while retiring from ODI's. But he chose otherwise. Not greatest of his fans, but no doubt an all time great to me.

Anyway.. Salute a great career. No need of bringing in comparison here. HE had a great career. Bowling, Batting, Fielding excelled in all fields in different formats. A definite source of inspiration for budding fast bowling all rounders. All rounder doesn't mean just bowling and batting. Fielding is also included. Kallis was great as a fielder as well.
