He is no Sehwag with his cut shots and if you notice it's mostly not of high balls and normally not in total control

Star sports showed a stat in England Vijay left alone 90% of the short balls he faced and didn't play a single attacking shot to bouncers entire series So Dhawan just needs to learn from Vijay how to deal with it .Patience and with his attacking strokes he can easily make up for it later

He has no idea where his offstump is, all Jimmy and co did was angle the ball away from him and he self destructed by poking to balls which even pitched a foot outside leg stump. His coming down the track to fast bowlers there by giving himself less time will another detriment. That said there are no strong back foot players in this team, Kohli thinks he is good against short pitch bowling but he is not that good. Rahul should not be overestimated, so Dhawan plays as an opener initial tests. When will BCCI learn and give more practice games, those two day matches are disgrace.

I wonder how BCCI and its selectors work.. Dhawana clearly struggled in SA, NZ, Eng in tests and ODIs and we still picking him.. These are his last three test match scores which he failed.. caught in slip most of the time if I remember correctly. We dropped him for last two test matches due those failures but it doesnt go against him and we still pick him.

Dhawan will fail completely in tests in Oz.. Someone talked about mental strength.. but you need skills to survive and then use your mental strength to go further.. He doesnt have skills to survive. He survives in ODIs cuz of field restrictions and flat pitches so no surprises there.. I would rather open with Vijai and Rahane as openers.. Dhawan opening is disaster waiting to happen.. I'll be really surprised if Kohli picks him for first test and then more surprise if he survives beyond 20s or 30s..

Dhawan had one 100 and one 98 in NZ. Kohli also failed in England. Pujara failed both in NZ and England. Only Rahane got mild success on all 3 tours.
