Cricketics Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 We are still in better position than South Africa on day 2. We are 271/5 at tea on day 2. If we put about 350 today or more or might be all out around 350. It will take South Africa, atleast morning of Day 4, the first session to go beyond our score and get a lead if they bat well. Which means, they would proabably like to bat another session or two to put atleast 80-100 run lead. This test isn't over by any means, but we shouldn't be too worried right now. Just bat and score most possible. If we go beyond 350, it will be ideal for us as it will put less pressure on us batting 2nd. I am glad we got Pujara who is sort of the captain of our young batting line up. Leads the team and I am sure we will do well to not allow our team to mess this game up. I think we are still in better position than South Africa in this test.

Has been amazing session of test cricket though. Top class bowling and some wonderful batting by Kohli and fighting knock by Rahane.

There will be one very big effort from Steyn and Co. So India should keep check on run rate of South Africa.

If we get 350, barring a second innings collapse, we are unlikely to lose this match considering 3 days left of which 1 is likely to be lost to rain and a further 0.5 to bad light

NareshK Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Need to get close to 375 which is looking a long way away, then have to bowl well. This is still a decent wicket to bat on and when you consider the quality of their batting, its going to be a tough task.
