And i think, Kohli is quite capable of making that adjustment, no ? We don't have any proper openers as such apart from Dhawan who wasn't playing in this game. So the the person who could best fit in as an opener is the one who faces the new balls as much as the openers, and that is No. 3 - Kohli. So no surprise he is opening.

Rayudu for Rahane would be an apple-to-apple comparison. Personally, I wouldn't be too comfortable with either one of them in my starting XI for the world cup. Raina at number 6 is not a bad bet considering the lack of power hitters in the Indian ODI squad. He is not good enough to bat at number 4 or 5 but can be handy in slog overs.

He played short ball than Raina. Unles u r dhoni or csk it makes 0 sense.

Jaddu atleast knows where the fielders are at all times,he will take whats on offer.the same cannot be said of rohit and rayudu.

No.4 is a position tailor-made for batsman like Yuvi, who can pick singles regularly. Hitting boundaries at will like UV was an added bonus though. Rahane seemed to get stuck, have to see more of Rayudu to judge him.
