Thing is that the Australian bowlers got a lot more from the same wicket that the Indians bowled on. You can't expect Yadav to get a Perth wicket everywhere he plays. He's going to get a lot of unhelpful wickets to bowl on and that's where he needs to show how good a bowler he is. Yadav got carted away in the first innings: 1/136 off 26 overs, easily the most expensive in terms of economy rate. He has little else going for him than pace. Go back and see for yourself. It's you who came back with the stupid comment of comparing Perth wicket with Adelaide one when I pointed out how South Africa batted well in Perth but not as much in Adelaide. By your logic, Perth is a better batting wicket. So maybe you would be wasting time debating about something you don't seem to understand much about.

Yadav averages 27 on flat tracks in India in 5 tests he has played. He will only get better if he plays. Zak is not winning us anything too who has past it. Regarding Adelaide, it is the best batting track in Aus batting first. You are comparing Aus first innings to SA 4th innings at Adelaide.

Yup Zak's return halted our progress big time. We were on our track to identify our future fast bowling combination. Then he came in and screwed up everything.

I think it's pretty much a given that Yadav's going to play in England. I don't think they're gonna pin their hopes on Zaheer anymore. It'll be his chance to prove himself and be a mainstay in the Indian test bowling line-up.

Nah, I think he gave Zaheer the chance to prove himself in seamer-friendly conditions in South Africa and New Zealand and was hoping for him to lead the bowling attack well, but that didn't happen. Remains to be seen though. I don't think he'll persist with him much longer.

if i was running things, umesh would be the first name on the bowling sheet. tests over anything. he will get better the more he plays, poor guy never got a chance and was the only threatening pacer on that Eng 2012 home series, and in the nz 2012 home series. Indian management have robbed me from watching and enjoying his bowling in the indian team

Picking players for tests based on One dayers. Umesh's second all time worst economy rate in one dayers definitely played some role in his exclusion. Also Zaheer's return made the matter worse.

But at the f.a.g end of his career Kapil was just dead wood... at a point we just hoped that he just gets that damned 432nd wicket. Prabhakar was then emerging as a spearhead and was a competent batsman as well.

Haha like it or not, in his last 2 seasons, Kapil picked only 33 wickets in 31 innings. His best bowling performance was 3/35, and six of those 16 Tests were played outside the subcontinent.

Prabhakar was not a 'spearhead' in the real sense of the word, but he surely picked more wickets than Kapil at that point of time. (1992-1994)

Manoj Prabhkar and spearhead should never been in same sentence, Kapil dev bowled more overs than this guy even in the *** end of his career when this guy was in his prime and during 1992-94 Kapil was on par with him as a bowler and as batsman was far better. kapil made one of finest hundreds made by an Indian batsmen in SA against rampaging Allan Donald with one hand. Kapil could have walked into 1992-1994 Indian team just as batsman alone.
