NareshK Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 When was the last time India played a 5 test match series ? This will really stretch the team and test their limits, their concentration levels and ability to play at the highest level for an extended period. We need backup seamers as first choice seamers wont last the entire series.
Austin 3:!6 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I don't see Zaheer will be able to play 5 test matches. He is too delicate for that :((
undisputed chap Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Dont want zak breaking down on first day of test than we'll be fecked.
rkt.india Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 that is true but our bowling is in complete disarray' date='they can take 20 wickets and we have one good bowler in our team and he seems perenially unlucky for some reason.[/quote'] That is why on flat tracks, we might get draws, but they will make greens to win.
BlueBee Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Where did spin the ball? He was thrashed around. Mishra did play 2 tests in last tour and was thrashed as well and Mishra is no Warne. He is taking wickets in T20 because batsmen trying to attack him. Test is a different format. Gollum Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 :hysterical::hysterical: Unless Dhoni,Zak,Ishant,Nohit are dropped another series defeat coming up. After watching NZ draw the 2nd test I have lost hope in this bowling attack. Cook's batting avg will come back to 50.
alexander Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Test cricket is the ultimate. England will cruise to a 3-1 or better series win.
undisputed chap Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Alexander when are Pakistan playing Australia. I think you'll be favorites at home.
zubinpepsi Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 against Eng this summer, India should follow Vadivelu's strategy vpFyMG8a034
alexander Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Alexander when are Pakistan playing Australia. I think you'll be favorites at home. I dont follow Pakistan cricket sans to the extent that I keep an eye on all international scores. This notion of me as Pakistani is hilarious. :giggle: Nothing wrong with being Pakistani of course, but I am English and happy to be so. :two_thumbs_up:

You English, I Indian, We people and this cricket. One thing that the pommies don't compromise is their grammar. Aap Urdu meh baat kijiye bhaisaab!
alexander Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 LOL. Careless typo, man. My language use here is usually excellent.

Aap Urdu meh baat kijiye bhaisaab! It's called carelessness. You guys are funny. Tell me, why the obsession with me being Pakistani? Is it because I once made jokes about India's bowling. That is near universal and yet seems to have stuck a nerve with you lads. :icflove:
undisputed chap Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Don't trouble him slick. Atleast he is miles better than u.akmal. angrezi seekh gaya to bhaijan khud ko angrez samjhne lage.
Laaloo Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Aforesaid by Dhoni prior to the South Africa tour that the SA and NZ tour would be a learning curve for the youngsters, which indeed was, and I really hope they have passed the Test and are ready for the next level. Enough of trying to be competitive overseas. Our youngsters have passed that stage and its time to win something. We should, and could have drew the series against South Africa and won the one against New Zealand, 2-nil. Don't see us getting hammered like 0-8; we did pretty well in SA, time to cultivate all the experience from the last two series and beat England. Hopefully the right combination is picked for us to win a game. well as per Dhoni all overseas matches are practice matches. I wouldn't look too much into his words
adi B Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 i have no confidence with dhoni as the captain,he'll keep on playing pishant, zak and a spinner(who wont be effective there) so we'll basically have to pick 20 wkts with an already below avg 4 bowlers attack!! india slip up in crunch situations nowadays in tests outside SC with the bowlers being primarily guilty so we might be in a good position in one of the matches but as usual throw the opportunity. batting will do well in this tour but if we dont select proper bowlers,we'll not win a single test
Sidhoni Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 The key is going to be how we play in first 2 matches. If we live up to our tag of slow starters and get outplayed in first 2 tests then we are screwed.
GoldenSun Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Test cricket is the ultimate. England will cruise to a 3-1 or better series win. Alex, 3-1 sounds realistic right now. Sadly your lads will be high on confidence after thrashing Sri Lanka and India at home. I expect Robson to flourish . He made a huge impression during the A tour in Sri Lanka.

Haddin hit a purple patch but him being your No1 choice keepr and with ho new decent keeper on the horizon make things look bleak. I don't think Aussie'S golden sun(:giggle:) is going to last very long and no I am not being a hater, just the way it is...I supported Aus against both Eng and S.A. If Ashes were held today (-) Harris,I would back England to do better than 5-0

If Ashes were held today (-) Harris,I would back England to do better than 5-0 Hey, Im happy as long as we're winning in test cricket at the present. We have quality players in Shield to look forward to and IM only excited. Yes, Haddin will probably make way for Sam Whiteman, and Jordan Silk (Rising star Jake Doran as well)will hopefully flourish to earn selections. Winning is the fabric of our culture. As long as the players and organization are committed to success in test cricket, I won't worry. I reckon you lot should worry more about the spot fixing scandal in your country and your tours to England and OZ. You are the ones who have a chip on your shoulder. :winky:. I'll personally be attending the Melbourne, and Sydney tests and all the World Cup games. Clarke reasoned that it would be foolish to be calling ourselves the best in the world as of now. We have a tough test against spin in October and know that we have a LONG road ahead before we become #1 again.
