Useless move... However this bill was brought by the previous Secular Govt.' date=' of whatever info I've got...[/quote'] Even I think of the same and I guess it's a very bad move too purely by economic context. India is one of the largest exporter of beef in the world and has a lion's share in cattle reserves. see page 6, 7 and 8 in this link. Maharastra is one of the top producers by state. Note that they only banned cow slaughter and possession of meat, but not carabeef or buffallo meat. This gives enough ammunition to psecs

cow slaughter ban... bulk of beef exported and used in hotels is of buffalo. Some people need to understand that all bovine are considered beef. As asterix dada says it was introduced by the previous ncp-congress gov. So there was no real opposition to this on the floor.

President has okayed the bill now while the Govt. changed... All are now free to blame BJP/RSS/Modi as they do normally....

Sena was a big mover behind this.... the bill was first proposed in the 90s by the Sena. You forget dada that in maharashtra the shiv sena is the most right wing party on social issues... Its seen as a means to smoothen the SS-BJP alliance. Get them to pass and bills they agree on. This bill was always going to pass no issue even if SS sat in opposition. There was no way they would not vote for the bill. Based on the coordination committee headed by Raosaheb Danve , the BJP have granted the Sena full autonomy in ministries they control at cabinet level. In return the Sena have promised to tone down their outbursts. To what degree Uddhav plays ball remains to be seen. But the BJP certainly have made efforts to patch things up.

All it does is shipment of cows inhumanely to states which allow cow slaughter (Gujarat to Kerala' date=' now MH to Kerala) - all for SLICKR392 to consume![/quote'] maharashtra had/has tremendous processing capacity. If anything india's (bull bullock cow) based production will take a big hit. Because a lot of meat was brought from other states to be processed in maharashtra. The message is clear stick to water buffaloes...

'YSR Congress to be merged with BJP'

Congress leader Anam Vivekananda Reddy cautioned Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan by saying AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is known for his 'Use & Throw' policy. "Beware of Naidu, He has got the track record of using actors with good charisma to his advantage. We have seen what happened in the case of Jayaprada and Babu Mohan. Pawan should keep it in mind!," he warns. On the other hand, Anam predicted merger of YSR Congress with BJP any time soon. "Why Jagan hasn't been uttering a single against BJP even after justice was denied to AP in Union Budget? Talks have been going on between YSRC & BJP regarding the merger proposal. Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh were involved," reveals the former MLA. Anam opined that Jagan is suffering from Jail Phobia as he has already experienced the hardships of prison life and hence doesn't want to get into the bad books of NDA Government.
- See more at: http://www.aptoday.com/newsnpolitics/ysr-congress-to-be-merged-with-bjp/7579/#sthash.Pv9rppXc.dpuf there is are fecked up rumours going on in AP politics -BJP to go with TRS in Telangana and drop the TDP -BJP to go with TRS in Telagana and also the TDP in Andhra Pradesh -BJP to fight the GHMC elections with TDP and join the TRS in stare gov. at the same time This is the latest one. Apparently Reddy jr wants to avoid jail at all costs and will merge his party with the BJP and quit politics for business interests. This is not just an out of hand congress statement. Its become more and more intense. Seriously wtf is going on? Its like one big free for all.

Both should be banned . Slaughter of buffaloes should also be banned. Sometimes cows are surreptitiously slaughtered and passed off as buffalo meat . Before the elections the PM blamed the Cong for promoting a pink revolution , now he must walk the talk .
" During Lok Sabha poll campaign then BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi raised issue of rising export of buffalo meat during the then UPA government and termed it as ‘Pink Revolution’. Today, after almost 6 months, government said that export of buffalo meat has risen by almost 16 per cent."

People are reacting as if after the cow slaughter ban they will have nothing left to eat. :haha: 75 % of the population i think would not even bother to order beef in the restaurants let alone cook at home.

Apparently, cow slaughter was already banned in Maharashtra in 1976 under the then Congress government. This amendment just bans bull and bullock slaughter. I personally have no problem with anybody eating beef or pork or venison or camel or horse meat or rat meat. MH government should concentrate on some real reforms rather than such activities.
