binny is the type of bowler who will do well in english conditions. what india needs is guys who can keep a lid on scoring to pressure the english to get out. nobody in india is good enough to get batsmen out themselves. yadav might look good bowling to sub standard indian club batsmen in the ipl but it'll be whole different kettle of fish bowling in test cricket.

cannot bat' date=' cannot bowl, but certainly an AR (pm me to know the meaning of AR).:giggle:[/quote'] Binny is a true alrounder. Nobody is more ALL ROUND than him in this team. :cantstop:

Is it a possibility that Selectors are sending a message to Dhoni' date=' "Since you don't play him we don't include him in the squad". Whatever it is , there is much more involvement than Dhoni, Sandip Patil. There are some external forces clearly involving in the selection of guys like Panni, Ishant.[/quote'] Absolutely agree. With Ishant I might consider he had few good spells in NZ and selectors want to give him one more chance but Binni in the test squad beats all wisdom. I am sure his selection is due to politics. I am still in shock and want to think it is some sort of mistake and someone will soon clarify. He does not deserve a place even in ODI's, leave alone tests . His paltry medium pace will be useless and of course will be a sitting duck with bat. What is the logic of his selection? If selectors wanted to select an all rounder, Raina is still a way better option than Binni. Much better batsman and a handy spinner.

IMO Umesh's career is history' date='no captain will support a guy who just cannot bowl 2 balls with the same line and length.[/quote'] 2MoTM in this IPL.

This is absolute rubbish. Test cricket is about taking wickets. India have plenty of attacking, wicket taking bowlers. Mohammed Shami is a genuinely good bowler who is going to take wickets anywhere he goes. Umesh Yadav is a nice aggressive bowler with a superb strike rate. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has all the skills of Jimmy Anderson and Trent Boult, he just needs to be given the chance to prove himself. From what I've seen of Pankaj Singh and Ishwar Pandey, they look like they could be very good workhorse 3rd seamers who will bowl long overs and do the hard work for the odd wicket or two. Run rate is just not a concern. Australia doesn't select Clint McKay in their test team. NZ doesn't select Kyle Mills. England doesn't select Tredwell.

IMO Umesh's career is history' date='no captain will support a guy who just cannot bowl 2 balls with the same line and length.[/quote'] He had the talent and a rare ability to bowl at a decent pace consistently for an Indian bowler. He needed the backing of the captain. The captain instead decided to back proven failures like Ishant. Now I am afraid he may be lost for good.

Our spinners overseas are rubbish. They did zilch in NZ and will do same in England. Ashwin is even worse than Jadeja overseas. I will play 4 pacers.
Yeah my point is the lengths they can go to so that Binny dosent play :D

No need to get personal here. I have agree with him on that. The WI series after Champions trophy showed umesh wasnt good for ODIs. He sprayed all over. Dhoni is pretty dumb. He doesnt believe in specialist player for a format. Umesh should be selected for tests but ODIs I don't think so unless he improved after the WI series.

Umesh was pretty bad in the LOIs but a genuine wicket taker in tests. But this last IPL has raised hope that Umesh has improved in LOIs. He bowled a good line and length and also got outswing. Bowled yorkers and slower deliveries at the death too. Let's see if he can sustain this.

I think Mohit must be great at ass-licking. To replace a seasoned Indian international after 1 IPL with the Lungi XI requires serious **** sucking.
