vvvslaxman
He is oversmart for his own good. He does not develop his core skills. He is losing his identify as an offie. Okay Having carrom ball as a variation is fine. Against Maxwell he actually bowled leg spin. He has been good in Tests atleast in India. He is slowly turning into Sachin Tendulkar with ball "I know everything but not good at anything" type of bowler. Link to comment

One good thing about Harbhajan is one of his quotes where he said "the hardest thing to do is consistently bowl an off spin delivery that lands perfectly on the seam". The advantage of doing that is that the ball will turn in any conditions, you will get drift, and there will be some variable bounce. It's simple, but it's quite difficult to do. Link to comment
AmreekanDesi
well the last holding spinner was Paul Harris (?) the South African. you cant really be considered a great bowler come end of your career by being in the holding role. Only less skilled, limited talent guys go for the holding role eg, Harris, Giles, Hogg. Ashwn is too talented to be wasted in such a role Link to comment
Gollum
Ashwin's real strength is batting. Won't be surprised if he scores a run a ball 150 in England. Link to comment
rkt.india
No, you cannot do Holding role. Holding was whispering death. Link to comment

Forever Indian
Now we know the role assigned for each of the long rope club. Ash does the holding, Ishant is the official ball shiner, but who does the light holding job- Nohit? Link to comment

rkt.india
So thats why he couldnt pick a single wicket in 40 overs?because he didnt try? According to Ashwin, our captain is so fool that he thinks only 3 bowlers will pick 20 wickets to win a match. Link to comment
FischerTal
your strength is to rotate your protusion in as many different ways as possible to achieve the same scorecard of 0-60+ in 10 overs every fricking match Link to comment

Gollum
Shouldn't be too harsh on this guy. He is our MVP in tests, the biggest match winner currently at our disposal. Am sure he will get better in overseas tests also. Link to comment
