Don't put Gambhir - Sehwag in same bucket. Sehwag can still offer a lot in Indian/SC pitches where he can hit the ball without moving his feet. Honestly I can see Sehwag coming back into our test side if Dhoni is removed from captaincy. Dhawan is horribly out of form, Gambhir is done and Kohli will definitely take a gamble with his Delhi mate Sehwag.

His reflex/eye sight have dwindled significantly. He relied on his reflexes. That coordination is gone. Even otherwise he was not a great player in swinging conditions.

Even otherwise he was not a great player in swinging conditions. I totally gave up on him after the way he was struggling to put a 120KPH Bret Lee away on a road during that MCC game.

You don't take the ODI performances as the yardstick to select test players. The only way for him to make the test squad is to show his prowess in first class cricket, be it Ranji, county or A tours.

He is a good limited over player. With no slips around he can get away with streaky shots. He is a solid player if the requirement is to hit though the line.

Raina isnt an opener, no 3,4,5 are not going to be disturbed so the only opening is Jaddu. Aswhin as main spinner and raina as backup with 3 seamers against aussies ??? is that what he is thinking ?

Raina gets out more often to full lengths balls to slips due to fear of short balls and hanging on the back foot. Heck he was clueless against NZL spinners in the home test series he was dropped . He simply isn't suited to test cricket.

All the talk about improved technique and confidence playing the short ball has got him back into the ODI squad... Let's stop at that.. Tests are a completely different ball game...
