In theory, yes. But most likely no. India hasn't played a 5 match test series in ages and this current team will have a tough time maintaining focus through such a long period of time. The bowlers most likely will break down or turn into zombies after 1-2 matches.

In fact I don't remember watching any 5 test series for India and I am watching cricket from 96.

Yes that's what I have said many times...Batting was the issue followed by fielding and bowling but that doesn't make bowling our strength. Our spinners be it Bhajji or Ashwin have sucked and Jadeja has been mediocre but better than them.....We just don't have a go to 4th option leave alone 5th

Might be in Aust and Eng tours of 2011 but recently concluded away loss in NZ and SA were due to bowling. Out batsman played really well against Steyn and co. but due to some horrific 5th day bowling we couldn't win the game in 1st test. In fact we would have lost if Saffers didn't settle for a draw. There is no way a certain hack named Mccullum can go on to score to score 300* against any decent attack. Lack of a good spinner is the main reason we struggle overseas and Ashwin need a lot of improvement. The reason our test side was good/decent away during Ganguly era was due to a certain Anil Kumble.

Can Ojha be our Herath? He has always been kept out for non subcontinental matches right? Instead of playing Ashwin, I would try Ojha in his place. Ashwin can be a batting allrounder. I think he will bowl better in tandem with Ojha as opposed to being the only spinner in the side.

In the first test our batting flopped....Our bowling brought us back in the game...Our top order did well and then our bone headed lower order screwed up again. In the 2nd test,it was our bowling that gave us a shot to win the test,our batting did Ok but what happens we Fk up in fielding.

This English side looks pretty weak though. Not one competent batsman apart from Bell. All others are hit and miss. And Root doesnt really take the game away with his batting.
