adi B Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 India should bat 35 ovrs, score upto 300.let's see how England Chase 250-260 in 50-55 ovrs
kubrickian Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Wha a terrible day for India. From being in a position where they could have forced a win, they are now in a situation where they could lose if they don't play well. Just pathetic.

Got a few lucky/unusual wickets yesterday but still fell short. It's annoying :whine: Always hoping for a fairytale cause you know the bowling is chit and need a chit ton of luck to win, can't just be like supporting an MJ where you know for sure he's gonna run through :whine:

Got a few lucky/unusual wickets yesterday but still fell short. Agree with this. Bowling is just not good enough. Sometimes they do well in one or two sessions and get into good positions but they are not good enough to go all the way and pick 20 wickets. Same thing happened in South Africa, New Zealand series and now here. I think even if we had got the tail out cheaply, this game would have ended in a draw as it would be impossible to take another 10 wickets on this track.

He was not in proper shape and looked jaded. Having binny as 5th bowler is one of the worst decision. pankaj instead of binny, and shami at its best, would have sealed the match for india

Even wasim akram mentioned this when our bowlers were trundling. We saw today how extensively English fielders were working on it to keep the shine on one side of the ball. Shami tried to get reverse swing . He strayed down leg side when he was trying to reverse. But the ball wasn't worked upon to achieve that kind of swing. Disappointing to say the least.

And then perhaps a pattinson to support them and a good spinner like lyon. Lets not to forget Shami is not bowling at its usual best., otherwise things could have been different. I think shami regressed a lot in between ipl and tests. That is the problem with our bowlers, they don't work on their rhythm and fitness in this free time. And then we have a dumb captain who played binny instead of Pankaj or Ashwin to make matter worse
velu Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 We shld bat as long as possible . Our batsmen need some confidence . Infact dhoni shld not agree to end the game and shld bat for the mandatory last 15 overs too.

Ishant was getting a lot of zip and swing from the wicket with the old ball. so can't say our fielders haven't worked upon the ball. Shami regressed a lot between ipl and TESTS. He didn't utilised that gap to work on his body and maintain his shape and hence lost some pace. HE was playing with almost the same team in kolkata, where shami getting it reverse big, and took the pitch out of equation. so it is not our fielders fault

I didn't watch the match yesterday. I took wasim's words today when he said our fielders showed no intensity in maintaing the cricket ball to achieve reverse swing.
cowboysfan Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Its India which should be more pissed on about the pitch than the poms,I feel they know our bowlers are better on greener wickets.
Stuge Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 We need to set a mild target which they would look to chase. Save the match .. that's the enough for this team .
Pagalpanti Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 We need to set a mild target which they would look to chase. It would be an unnecessary risk What India should try to do is bat the whole day out if they can, tire out Anderson and Broad..
